Warning – you will be required to count. If that’s too much math early in the morning, please return later this afternoon.
Today’s exercise will prove how old you are.
Out of the 20 things listed, how many have you personally experienced?
.

.
Clearly I’m old as dirt because I’m 19 for 20… and the only reason it isn’t 20? I never owned a Walkman. Though the husband did and used it when jogging.
Talk about cumbersome tech!
.

.
How about you?
What’s your outdated, no longer in existence number…
.
My personal experiences are pretty much the same as yours. I never owned a Walkman either and never rented a movie from Blockbuster!

It’s hard to believe I ever drove across town just to watch a movie at home.

I’m at 19 as well. I never recorded music off of the radio ” And she’s buying a stairway to…96Rock…Big Dave here, if you want a real good pizza” is not the way that song is supposed to end.

Dubbing tapes off the radio was an art, no doubt!

19 – no walkman – looks like there’s a few of us here of the same vintage.

I like that. I’m not old and falling apart…
I’m vintage.

OMG, 20. I suddenly feel ancient, like my hands will turn to dust any minute now. My kids would be mystified by that thing called “tape recorder,” though we had a video cassette player while they were growing up. And I can remember driving to Blockbuster in a winter storm to return a movie and get new ones to hole up with over the long weekend.

There was something special about walking the aisles and choosing movies. Today’s convenience is great… but I rather miss it.

18 – I never patronized Blockbuster because there were none where I lived nor did I ever record music from the radio…I kinda skipped the whole tape thing and went from vinyl to cd’s.

I think it was a teenage thing, when I didn’t have money to buy the albums or cassettes I wanted. Can’t remember ever doing it as adult.

When I was a teenager we didn’t have cassettes…I’m a whole bunch older than you.

We liked Blockbuster and I had a walkman. I use an old type of phone, a jukebox now when I go to the Rec Center. The funny thing is it is in style and I have a feeling if I left it by accident, it would not be returned. From the good older days, we are still standing.

As much as I love my iPhone, and I do… I dislike actually talking on it and have a house phone for actual conversations. Old habits die hard.

The Jukebox has music on it. Mike transferred my music to it. But yeah, I use the up to date phones, whatever….but at the gym, I play my music.

I just looked it up-Samsung Jukebox, yeah, they don’t make them anymore. We must read the same website. The first time I did this, all in!

I’ve never even heard of that one.

Yeah, they go on ebay from $35 to $450. They are kind of rare but it is priceless to me because of the music and the familiarity.

20. And I still take film photos, pay with checks, own a dictionary, and listen to cassettes AND vinyl.
Amateurs…

I still pay bills by check, though it’s getting harder and harder to do these days. I hate companies inside my bank account.
I still own a dictionary, and a thesaurus. Though I admit I rarely use them.

The dictionary doubles as body armor. It’s hardback and THICC…

I’m 20 for 20, but that just means us GenXers can survive a technical apocalypse, use a wall mount phone, check. Use a paper map, check. Can drive a stick shift with no navigation help, check!

Very true.
We’re lucky when you think about it… having the best of both worlds.

Unlike my vision, I’m a perfect 20 for 20. 22 for 20 if you add in a Discman and Hollywood Video.

I experienced 19 out of 20. 😊 I never paid by cheque but received it in Salary. The only missing pieces are vinyl record.
