Every once in a while I check out local Facebook pages… you never know what you’ll find.

Exciting.. and quite possibly dangerous.
I wouldn’t be at all surprised if my husband has something similar in our cellar.
.

.
I didn’t know this was a thing.
But I am hoping that isn’t the (newly painted) mortar round from the previous story.

Send recommendations, but please be quiet about it. The poop requires silence.

Did your mother have a button box, drawer or tin? I don’t remember my mother sewing very often when I was a child, but we were never allowed to throw out a button.
Waste not, want not.

Dock diving is a real thing and the pups love it.

We usually have cats.
They definitely don’t.

It did look like they were throwing that mortar round into the lake.

I have a button container! I started it forever ago and have used it, for buttons rather than the cool sound-when-shaken, ONCE. I’ll still add to it.

That’s the best part. No one ever used the buttons, but God bless it… we had them.

Years ago, a friend found a ton of old containers of DDT in his deceased dad’s garage. I dunno how he got rid of them.

You gave me a laugh with the dock diving. That would be fun to watch. My mom sewed me dozens of dresses when I was in grade school. She put buttons and rickrack on most of them. Yes, she had a button tin. We also played a game we called “The Button Game.” We sat at a table and all but one of us had a button tied with shoestring inside a circle. One person had dice and a big pot lid to smash down on 7 or 11 after rolling the dice. We tried to avoid the pot lid by pulling on the shoe lace to get our button out on time! It could get violent 😂

I have my mother’s button tin and also one that is my own. Some of Mom’s buttons are well over 100 years old. Interesting to look through and reminisce.

Doggo would LOVE dock diving … as long as no other dogs were present.

Your husband strikes me as one who might have a random button collection.

It’s funny but now that you mention it… I think he had a can in the cellar.

Dogs love dock diving, at least if they’re water dogs, and if they’re doing that they probably have dog agility too which a lot of dogs love.
And there are worse things than a mortar.

Too funny. Don’t know how I missed that movie, but I’m pretty sure there’s not a sea mine in our cellar, so that’s something.

I have lots of buttons, but couldn’t tell you the last time I sewed a button on anything! HAHA!
Dock diving? That looks like fun!

I have an old (50’s maybe) pickle barrel glass container filled with buttons. Some are worth a lot of money as my grandmother started the collections so there are some very rare ones.
