If you’ve ever been to Maine, you know we’re very green.

Maine is a great place to retire.
If you can afford it..

My husband would call most of them slug a beds. He’s usually up at 4:00am.

I haven’t noticed that many vinyl stores here, but maybe I’m not looking hard enough.

Ticks can be a real problem here as we’re a very wooded state. My husband is a veritable magnet for the little bastards.

No surprise ours is L. L. Bean

What’s with the fireworks on that map? Odd…

Interesting that they were willing to spell out all the swear words except the one in English. And what does it do to preconceived notions that in the Dakotas and Nebraska the most popular stores are art and bookstores?

In the Black Hills at least, there are tons of art galleries selling Native American works, so that doesn’t totally surprise me.

I call fowl, these maps show Texas as well, nothing what I know of the state I live in, lol. Exxon Mobil is most definitely NOT the most top brand in the state. There aren’t even Exxon gas stations in my side of the state anymore. I read a research paper that tick infestations happen more in states with higher humidity, so where I live no tick bite emergency room visits, thank goodness. And car battery stores, really? Not even close, automotive part stores yes, but they sell more than just car batteries. Texas isn’t either good or bad for retirement, I suppose it also depends on the region you live in. And the green map is probably the closest to the truth about Texas being green, it is not.

Thank god Wisconsin is one of the top states for retirement. I wouldn’t want to make yet another move!

I’m confused about my home state WA being green for renewable energy. I guess hydroelectric power is considered renewable? Also, my grandparents came from Finland, so I had to google the swear word for there. Oh boy.

I’m not up as early as your husband, but I’m up much earlier than those sleepers.

Your hubby gets up before I go to sleep!
I suspect CA is a Worst retirement state because it’s expensive and requires a car/ability to drive.

That swear words map is print-worthy!
I can’t remember the last time I got up at 8:02. High school? Your husband probably thinks I’m a slug for sleeping in until 4:30 every day (the price is that I’m typing this with drooping eyelids at 7:30pm).
I can’t believe what a lame “top brand” MN has. I feel like it should be General Mills.

I beg to differ on the Retirement States. My friend lives in Virginia and it is much more expensive to live then here in Nevada, I believe.
