I have naturally curly hair. It’s mostly a blessing and Lord knows I saved a lot of money on perms in the big hair era of the 80’s.
(Truth be told I still have big hair… I just don’t use as much Aqua Net these days.)
When I go out I tend to blow dry and straighten it for a more manageable look but if I’m staying home? I just air dry and let it curl. In the winter, no problem. But with summer comes humidity and frizz, so I’m always looking for products to combat the kink.

Social media was raving about this one and while I usually don’t pay attention to that nonsense, I figured why not.
Result of using just a tiny dollop?

Defined curls.

But still somewhat frizzy at the ends. And the general feel of the product? Horrible. My hair felt heavy and sticky all day and I swear the only thing I could think about was washing it right back out.
Hard pass.

Back to my daily, light weight foam.

Defined curls.

More volume and no weighed down tacky residue.
To be honest I don’t think a product exists that can tame frizz on curly hair.
At least not mine.

Your hair is beautiful and I don’t mean the sheep

Though there are days I look more like the sheep…

You have great hair! So funny I just tried my friend’s kitsch while we were away and I liked it, so I bought my own, but my hair is not as curly as yours.

My problem with it was the feel. Hair felt tacky all day. Maybe if I’d styled it with the blow dryer it would have been different…

Interesting. Mine felt softer compared to some of those curl products that dry crunchy. And my friend loves it—she kept raving about it. I said “why’d you buy it?” She said “I got influenced” 🤣

I’d like to say I used too much, but I didn’t.
Guess I just don’t like that heavy cream feeling. Always preferred the lighter products.
And crunch is the worst! Remember those mousses of the 80-90’s? Yikes.

In dry or humid weather, I use oils/serums on my curls. The rest of the time I use a dollop of conditioner as a leave-in, and/or Fructis Wonder Waves – but Wonder Waves was discontinued. I might try Fructis Curl Nourish Air Dry Cream… dunno yet.

Wonder Waves sounds fun.

It’s great – lightweight but defines curls. I think I have 1 bottle left, but I might be wrong. I sometimes use a ‘salt spray’, but that’s for a crunchy ½ wavy ½ not beach look. I must have 15 different products that rotate in & out.
