.
I’ll ask you to put your thinking cap on, but the weekend is almost here.
You can take it off soon.
.
.
Here are mine…
.
.
I had to go back and watch this a second time right after I saw it because I didn’t believe the premise.
.
.
Same situation as the first. My original thought? No way!
.
.
Great movie. I never saw it (him) coming.
.
.
Not quite as good as the others, but a decent legal drama twist.
.
Now you.
Give me a movie with an insane plot twist.
.
.
This may require a bit of thinking, but don’t let that put you off.
.
.
For Lord Dudley Mountcatten?
I have two…
1. Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon.
.
.
When His Lordship is in full attack mode, it’s very dragon like.
.
.
Even when there’s a window between him and his prey.
.
.
I think you can guess this crouch didn’t end well for the tree.
🥴
2. The Big Sleep.
When not actively stalking, His Lordship excels at napping.
.
.
Usually for 18- 20 hours a day.
.
.
And don’t think about interrupting his slumber if you value your skin.
.
.
We call this the do not disturb.
❤️
Now you…
What movie title describes your pet?
.
.
Because it’s Friday and the weekend is almost here.
.
.
We live in Maine for many reasons but high on the list? The scenic beauty.
.
.
Rocky shores, coastal plains, virgin forests, rolling pastures and small pristine mountains. I love the change of seasons… the crisp colors of fall, the winter wonderland of snow.
I lived down south for 17 years and while parts of it are beautiful, it was never home. Too hot, too flat, too depressingly brown for Christmas.
So give me the blue zone. The cool air, the lakes, the mountains, the northern coasts. Quirky New England villages and Montana’s wide open valleys. I’ll be a happy camper. (Metaphorically speaking as I don’t camp.)
.
.
How about you?
Pick a zone.
.
.
Dip back into your childhood memories and answer this one.
.
.
I remember neighborhood rounds of Spotlight.
.
.
Though not with the “put up your hands or I’ll shoot” vibe Wiki is working here.
It was basically nighttime hide and seek with a flashlight and I doubt kids play it today.
.
.
The world isn’t as innocent a place as when I was playing. Hiding in the bushes at night and being flushed out with lights is probably a good way to get shot today.
What (hopefully less dangerous) game did you play as a kid that’s faded into oblivion now ?
.
.
We all have favorites.
This shouldn’t be difficult.
.
.
For me, two immediately come to mind.
I’m a Jersey girl born and bred, and when I was growing up? Bruce ruled.
.
,
I still have my original vinyl from 1975. I played it endlessly, learned all the words to all the songs and can still sing along verbatim to this day. Including a perfectly timed grunt on the title track. IYKYK.
Bruce’s raspy vocals filled with angst, Clarence’s mournful horn…Thunder Road, Jungleland. I can almost smell the shore.
❤️
My second perfect album?
.
.
The year was 1992, MTV was all we watched and Clapton was mesmerizing. Stripped down acoustic guitar performances that seared right through your soul. Bluesy and heartfelt, it was a masterpiece. His tender version of Layla rocketed to the top but the lesser known songs like Before You Accuse Me and Nobody Knows You When You’re Down and Out still resonate. Tears in Heaven? I can still feel the pain.
❤️
Now you?
What’s your album of pure perfection…
.
.
Today’s question only makes sense if you’re a Yellowstone universe fan.
If you’re not?
Feel free to skip this post.
.
.
Ooh wee!
Lunch with Beth Dutton?
It’s a good thing our man cave/Barn Mahal has a full bar.
.
.
I think Beth will be very happy here.
.
.
Now you.
Who’s your lunch date?
.
.
It’s just one word.
How hard can it be?
.
.
I’ll go first.
Cheers.
M*A*S*H*
.
.
Though technically, I guess that’s four.
Going further back…
Mannix.
Kojack. (Who loves ya baby?).
.
.
And even further…
Lassie.
Gunsmoke.
.
.
Now you.
Give me a one word old tv show.
.
.
Today I want you to date yourself.
.

The first cell phone pictured is a Motorola DynaTAC 8000X brick released in 1983. It weighed 2.5 lbs, had about 30 minutes of talk time, and took 10 hours to fully charge. Cost? $3,995.
The last cell phone pictured is the first generation iPhone released in 2007. Revolutionary then… with its 2megapixel camera, internet communicator and accelerometer… but considered a relic today.
My first cell phone was #7. A Nokia something or other that I think I bought in 1998 or 1999. It didn’t do much of anything except (gasp!) act as a phone… back in the day when we used to have actual auditory conversations… but I thought it was pretty damn slick all the same.
Ironically I just stumbled across my second ever cell phone the other day.
.
.
It was buried in a drawer under some sweaters and for the life of me I have no idea why I kept it.
Flip phones!
Geesh… texting was an absolute nightmare with those things.
Now you.
What was your first piece of mobile technology?
.
.
It’s Friday.
I think it’s required.
.
.
It is said music hath charms to soothe the savage breast. No, it’s not beast, that’s a common misquote. But I think ole William Congreve knew what he was talking about in 1697.
(If you’re interested, the original line is as follows –
“Musick has Charms to sooth a savage Breast, To soften Rocks, or bend a knotted Oak”)
And while music can indeed soothe it can also elicit other emotional responses… joy, sadness, nostalgia, triumph etc.
And when asked what songs move me? The first one that pops into my head is Eric Clapton’s “My Father’s Eyes” from this album.

I lost my dad when I was 15 years old and to be honest, I still haven’t gotten over it. To this day I can’t talk about him… or listen to that song… without crying.
So yes, music can bring me to tears.
What song moves you, and why?
.
.
Time to brush off the brain cobwebs.

I was supposed to be 4 to enter preschool but since my birthday is in December, I was 3.
Because I was an only child, my mother always signed me up for “social” experiences and in 1967 she thought half a day at preschool with other children was just the thing.
I remember we were told to bring something to lay on the floor for nap time and while other kids had blankets or towels, my mother – being my mother – went shopping at Saks Fifth Avenue and I showed up with a large, extremely plush and colorful Humpty Dumpty oblong egg rug. I remember rolling it out and all the other kids oohing and ahhing… but not in a nice way. We all laid down and the next thing I knew some ratty little bastard pushed me off Humpty and stole it. I cried and pointed at the pint sized felon but was told to hush up and go to sleep.
.
.
I don’t remember what happened later, though I’m sure my mother gave the teacher a good tongue lashing…but even after Humpty was returned the next day, preschool was never my happy place again.
How about you?
What’s your very first memory….
