Never let it be said I don’t put myself in harm’s way for my loyal readers.
.
.
Yes, I drove home from the store one handed the other day just so I could share a few shots of our beautiful fall foliage in Maine.
.
.
We had a very hot dry summer…
.
.
So the leaves aren’t as vibrant as they could be.
.
.
But it’s still a pretty sweet show.
.
.
Minus the spots and streaks on my dirty windshield that is.
.
.
No small animals were killed while I swerved left for that burning bush…
.
.
And swerved right for that perfect sugar maple.
.
.
Good thing we don’t get much traffic on our road.
.
.
Or police cruisers.
.
.
Ah, autumn in New England.
.
.
If you’ve never experienced it….
.
.
What are you waiting for?
.
.
I appreciate the glimpse of color – our trees are just getting started. It didn’t look like that road was too busy.

We’re at moderate color right now. Peak foliage is next week. And yes, that’s the blessing of country living. No traffic!

Is Maine getting many visitors for foliage?

We have more tourists than we’d like right now, but no. Over all it’s been sparse for leaf peepers.

It’s very similar in Toronto. Breathtaking.

My favorite time of year. Shame it’s so short…

Gorgeous! I used to have a good friend from New York who always raved about Bar Harbor, Maine. I would love to visit for the Fall. Reminds me of the Catskills where I grew up.

I recommend this time of year to visitors but it’s very hard to pick the right week ahead of time. We’re early this year due to a summer drought and a few cold nights. A lot of people plan vacations and then are angry when the leaves don’t cooperate!

It was better in the ‘old days’ !!

And it’s not even a good year for foliage.

Another Floridian loving the Fall colors. We are high 80’s with a lot of rain. Dreary weekend. Thanks for sharing!

Yep…..in Florida as well, and I do not miss the cold. My four seasons: Warm, getting warmer, Summer, and going back to warm.

We lived down south for 17 years when my husband was active duty and yes, there are certain things I miss…. but the lack of changing seasons isn’t one of them. Now that I’m a woman of a certain age? Heat is the enemy. You can have it, and it’s evil twin humidity, in spades.

Absolutely. If I was more mobile and without a knee injury I’d be sharing more!

All that color can only mean one thing: Butt ass cold is just around the corner.

Beautiful! We live right along the Washington/Idaho border, which is usually full of color by now … but everything is off this year. We haven’t had our fall rains or a true cold snap yet, but hopefully it’ll come soon and we’ll catch up to your color. At least I can enjoy the beauty you shared … thanks for taking the risk!

Our weather has been crazy too. Extremely hot dry summer and a very early brief cold snap. We’re a good 2-3 weeks ahead of schedule foliage wise. It’s no where near as bright as it usually is.

Beautiful! I’m glad you, and no animals, we’re hurt for this post. I’ve always dreamed of seeing Autumn in your neck of the woods. 🍁
