I don’t know why, but it is definitely a thing.

Yes, now you can definitively prove your nasty neighbor’s pit bull did indeed hump poor little Twinkle.

23 and Me take note, there’s a new dog in town.

Is this really necessary?
No. But I found some fascinating ancestors when I researched my family tree so who knows? Your pooch may be Rin Tin Tin’s great great great great grandson on his mother’s side.

Bowzer’s family tree.
Frame worthy for sure.

I don’t think I want to live with the knowledge that my dog is better bred than I am.

No one does, but it’s true all the same.

Some breeds are more prone to certain health issues, so that may be why you’d do this. There’s a cat version out there, too, apparently. Infollow someone on YouTube who had her cats tested so she’d be aware of any health issues. 🤷♀️

Please don’t bring reason to my posts. You’ll spoil the narrative.

I just asked my dog…yo, Iago…what breed are you? He said “Ruff” Close enough, and it was free.

My niece did this for her mutt and learned that her mutt was a mutt. 😀

My pup Finley was a rescue. I don’t need to do a DNA test as I just know her lineage is royalty. 🐶

We’ve never had a pure bread anything, just take in all the strays who show up at our door.

My older dog is a mutt. And damn proud of it. BEST breed there is.

Oh geez….do you really need to know your dogs DNA? I have a cat, and I know his DNA…It’s SNARK, lol.

It’s a dog’s life, no matter how far back you go….
But if a dog’s your best friend, what more is there to know?

Not a thing.

I guess I would be interested in the case of one large white dog I have that just showed up on our porch as a little puppy one morning. Think she was dumped.
She also has canine epilepsy, more common among white dogs for some reason.
Don’t rightly know what I would actually do with that information, though.

Search for long lost relatives, film the reunion and post it on FB.
