When your ceiling looks like this?
.
.
And your fireplace looks like this?
.
.
You call in the cavalry.
.
.
Or rather two friends who aren’t afraid of heights.
.
.
Then you buy lots of this…
.
.
And hope they can find the source of the leaks.
.
.
A full day was spent searching, stripping, caulking and replacing shingles….
.
.
In less than balmy weather.
.
.
The view out my window was interesting at times :
.
.
And 7 chilly hours plus one large spaghetti lunch later? They think they solved the problem…. but I guess time will tell.

Just saying we are having Maine weather in Fort Lauderdale–48 degrees AT 2 PM!!!! ARGH!!!!!

If the roof cement and sealant doesn’t do the trick, you can always fall back on the chewing gum I suggested previously. That will do the trick….one way or another.

I shall commence chewing forthwith.

One place you won’t find me? Up on the roof. A moderate fear of heights and a complete lack of agility do not mix well…

You’ll notice my pictures were mostly taken from ground level. I did brave halfway up the ladder for my devoted readers though…

At least it’s a job that pays well. I’m afraid of heights and I’d climb up on the roof in that balmy weather for a large spaghetti lunch.

They work for food. You really can’t ask for more than that.

Fingers crossed that they got the spot glued up tight for winter.
At least they had sunny skies over head (and spaghetti in their bellies).

It was sunny, but cold and windy. Not good shingling weather.
