Birds in snowy trees.

.

Sadly our snow is all gone, but here are a few pretty pics from our last storm.

We have a few cardinals visit our feeders now and then…

But it always surprises me that they show up en masses during a blizzard.

Perfect winter scenes if ever I saw one.

They spend most of their time huddled in the small apple tree.

But every once in a while make a dash for the seed.

With light fluffy snow? It doesn’t always end well.

  1. Love those cardinal red colors popping against the snow! They’re probably more sensible than the five squirrels I watched chasing each other around for half an hour yesterday in cold rain that was very nearly sleet…

      1. How would you feel if I:
        a) did it for personal use?
        b) did it and tried to sell at the annual Christmas craft sale I take part in (in a year… finger’s crossed it takes place)
        c) both
I’m serious. I could put something on the card saying the picture was taken by you. Thoughts?

  2. Especially that one with the three birds. So striking with the red berries on the tree. Seriously, I’ll buy the cards from you.

On another note, I remember years ago when the husband’s grandma visited us to attend our wedding. She was struck by the cardinals. I don’t think she’d ever seen one before. I don’t think they have them in England.

  3. Absolutely spectacular! The feeder probably isn’t their palate’s first choice, but surest, easiest bet when they are fighting against the snow and need something in their magnificent bellies to keep warm. These photos are a marvellous exchange for their supper. Just wow. Aren’t they beauties.
