.
Sadly our snow is all gone, but here are a few pretty pics from our last storm.
.
.
We have a few cardinals visit our feeders now and then…
.
.
But it always surprises me that they show up en masses during a blizzard.
.
.
Perfect winter scenes if ever I saw one.
.
.
They spend most of their time huddled in the small apple tree.
.
.
But every once in a while make a dash for the seed.
.
.
With light fluffy snow? It doesn’t always end well.
🤣
.
It looks like the Trump reign isn’t going to end well either, but at least the cardinals love life and inspire an appreciation of what is beautiful in life.

At this point all I’m looking forward to is it ending. Well, or otherwise.

The light fluffy snow is a challenge for the animals. Cardinals are so pretty.

Love those cardinal red colors popping against the snow! They’re probably more sensible than the five squirrels I watched chasing each other around for half an hour yesterday in cold rain that was very nearly sleet…

They are a striking sight. And one of the few birds that venture out in the thick of it..

A bird is just a bird, unless you got something on your mind but cardinals in a row….a sign of the apocalypse. Just having fun the last day of the year.

If they’re a sign of the apocalypse, they’re a little late. That started in March….

Cardinals really are wonderfully striking birds. And seeing them go after seed makes me glad for their sakes the snow is gone.

Oddly enough…. when there’s no snow? There are no cardinals.

These pictures are stunning. I know someone who takes pictures of things in nature (flowers and such) and has them developed, then buys blank white greeting cards and affixes them to the front. You should totally do this. And sell them.

I should… but you know I won’t.

How would you feel if I:
a) did it for personal use?
b) did it and tried to sell at the annual Christmas craft sale I take part in (in a year… finger’s crossed it takes place)
c) both
I’m serious. I could put something on the card saying the picture was taken by you. Thoughts?

Especially that one with the three birds. So striking with the red berries on the tree. Seriously, I’ll buy the cards from you.
On another note, I remember years ago when the husband’s grandma visited us to attend our wedding. She was struck by the cardinals. I don’t think she’d ever seen one before. I don’t think they have them in England.

They would make lovely note cards, I agree.

PS The pictures numbers 3-5 are money makers that you can sell on the Internet!!!!

Could. But won’t…..

Great pics! I have never seen a cardinal in real life. Unless you count Mark McGwire in the mid-90s.

Steroid user, so no… he doesn’t count.

Absolutely spectacular! The feeder probably isn’t their palate’s first choice, but surest, easiest bet when they are fighting against the snow and need something in their magnificent bellies to keep warm. These photos are a marvellous exchange for their supper. Just wow. Aren’t they beauties.
