.
As previously reported, the barn bar construction is finished and now it’s just a matter of waiting for chairs.
.

.
But on further inspection, I noticed this.
.

.
Not visible until you’re slightly under it (which I may be some day in the near future, don’t judge) was an exposed lip of pressboard used to support the top.
.

.
I wasn’t loving it and decided to turn it into a nice little black strip.
.

.
What a royal pain in the ass that was.
.

.
I didn’t paint the whole thing, just the trim edge. But it looks better.
.

.
More finished.
.

.
And it picks up all the other black accents in the room quite nicely.
.

.
It took me forever, but there. Mission accomplished.
.

Is that a bi-plane that I see??

It is, a handmade custom remote controlled bi-plane.

“the barn bar construction is finished and now it’s just a matter of waiting for chairs.”—not quite–no shelves either for bottles or glasses!

The shelves for booze bottles are on order with the matching chairs.

Nicely done. That would bother me as well. When I build furniture, I hate being able to see exposed edges of composite material like plywood.

The black looks great, almost like a trim. Small things like that drive me nuts….

If you’re gonna start, you might as well finish!

I swear I thought you were going to say “waiting for customers.”.

No customers. If you cross the threshold of the Barn Mahal, drinks are free.

So you can have sleek black lines to admire when you are laying on the floor? Not judging…really…

The room looks fabulous! I love the antique implements. What’s the heating situation since I might have missed it?

We had a heat pump unit put in last fall. And then had to seal up all the leaky areas since the barn was originally built for storage only. The man cave transformation has been a slow and quite pricey journey.

I would’ve settled for a few orange crates, a recliner, a tv and a pool table…

I like the black strip. Exposed plywood, even if only at a weird angle, would drive me crazy, too…just knowing it was there.

Exactly. Once I noticed it… I couldn’t unsee it.
