.
When you chase wild turkeys from the lawn on a daily basis like my husband? You often find they leave parts of themselves behind..
.
.
For which our cat is quite thankful.
.
.
Have you hugged your feather today?
( Archaic reference to a public service announcement that used to run in the 80’s. Stop snickering, I’m old. )

Lord Dudley Mountcatten was not at all pleased when we put the air conditioners in the windows after a miserably hot and humid day.
.
.
He howled and batted at them and demanded their removal from his favorite bird watching perch. Sorry Dudley, but momma’s menopausal surface of the sun internal temperature requires cooling assistance. Adjust.
.
Wait until he learns how to turn the knobs.

What is that piece of ‘furniture’ to the left in the photos..?

An antique radio. It even works… after you warm up the tubes for a while.

I have sold a bunch but at one time I had about 25 of those big old ones. All Philco. I still have a bunch.

We have a Philco as well, but it’s in the cellar.

Wait….you don’t have central air? Or is it too humid up yonder on Casa River?
I’m just curious because…..I live in Texas and not having central air/AC or refrigerated air conditioning is just not tolerated well. Mind you, it’s dry heat over here because El Paso is…well land locked, so we’re no where near the water (thank God) so no humidity.
As for Lord Dudley, he will learn to turn the knob eventually, just sayin’.

We don’t have central air, no one dies up here. To be honest until about 5 years ago we never needed it. For decades no one had a/c in their cats either. We make do with window units for the 3 hot months, and only when needed. Heat pumps are the new latest and greatest and we put one in the barn. But unless your house has a wide open plan, which ours doesn’t, they’re not cost efficient.

I couldn’t live without A/C in my cat.

An air conditioned cat is a wonderful thing.

We don’t have central air at this time and use window units in Florida. It cools the area nicely. We will get our air conditioner replaced and it will cost $5000 or more. Our house is a wide open plan, so it cools nicely with the window units. We are also in a shaded area with a few oaks surrounding our home.

I would love central air and might look into it someday.

We will, also.

It just seems a big expense for something we’ll only use off and in for 3 months.

It is a trade off sometimes as the monies can be used for other things. We are very fortunate with our home, layout but one day we will install. My husband has a friend who will do it at a good cost.

Can’t you just hear it in his look??? Ms. Squirrel and I will get even when you least expect it!!

With my luck the squirrel will nest in the air conditioner.

Dudley seems quite content with that turkey feather. Good luck with his acceptance of the air conditioner.

He loves feathers. When I give him a feathered toy? He pulls them all off and chews on them.

I wonder if he can smell the turkey essence with the feather and is imagining eating it.

So cute. The bird bloodstains left in my exercise room by the cat? Not so cute.
