Am I the only one who does this? You see something and think to yourself… I need to blog that. Then you save it on your camera roll only to have it languish there for weeks because it doesn’t deserve its own post?
.

.
Yeah, like that. Weird, probably worthy of a joke, but not enough to build a blog around.
.

.
And I’m sure that’s perfectly delightful, for everyone but the chicken who’s suffocating in a plastic bubble and probably terrified at the cornucopia of sweaty flesh on display at the shore… but an entire post? No.
.

.
Maine real estate has always been high, but right now it’s absolutely insane. When the average median price for a house is 3/4’s of a million? You know people have lost their minds. And in case you’re wondering, the cheapest price shown is in a town that was nothing but redneck trailers and two bedroom ranches a decade or so ago.
.

.
Yes, I could blog about how no one but the wealthy can afford a home up here anymore… but that’s too depressing.
.

.
So I’ll end with Lord Dudley Mountcatten helping me make the bed.
.

.
Needless to say, the bed did not get made that morning.
.
Grandson was looking at a $100,000 .
It sold for $200,000
I need to get MINE on the market!!

But the problem with selling high? Finding an area where you can buy low….

I figured since my daughter lived with me for 2 years, I could live with her! lol

Real estate is crazy everywhere. Expect it to nosedive soon.
And I often see things that make me think about blogging. By the time I have a chance, though, the moment has passed and I have lost interest.

The inflated prices are going to leave a lot of people with mortgages higher than what their home is worth. We never learn…..

At least Lord Dudley has grabbed some prime real estate, and he obviously knows the value of it because he’s not giving it up.

Yes, he’s very helpful that way.

My 1929, 943 sqft, 2b/1b pike o’ crap house is currently estimated at nearly $600k.
Median in my zip code, which is not a “good” area, is $770k

That it is! I’ve heard that homes are currently selling on days, for cash & over asking price.

They’re doing that here as well. Buyers are over bidding each other..

I heard that a small house listed in the mid 600s but sold, in 7 days, for $845k cash. That makes me want to sell! If not for the cats, I probably would – and leave all my crap behind!

If you wanted to move to a different, more affordable state…. now would definitely be the time.

Yeah. Too bad I don’t know much about anywhere but here. I haven’t traveled in the US, outside Cali, since I was 17yrs old.

Wow. We haven’t traveled since Covid hit last March and I miss it terribly…

I’ve been pretty content to stay in Calif. I just recalled that I went to Hawaii in the 90s (spontaneous trip). In 2017 I went to Costa Rica. There have been a couple hops to LV, to see shows, but that doesn’t really count cause I never leave the hotels.

Hawaii and Costa Rica definitely count!

They were both so similar to SoCal that I was disappointed!!! I tried to use that to appreciate my home surroundings more… but it doesn’t work like that!
I should vacation somewhere with different climate but I’m only attracted to pacific ocean beaches!!

I wanted to take a painting class in Nova Scotia, and visit some east coast bloggers. But my painter friend died unexpectedly last year.

Oh, I’m sorry. Nova Scotia is on our list of vacation spots as well.

Maybe I’ll still make it someday. Something “broke” in me during my flight home from CR so that travel seems unbearable. I don’t know what.

But, hey… I bought during the 2002 increase for $175k and paid it off a few years ago!

We bought in the 2002 increase as well. Geesh, guess I need to have our 3 acre, 4 bedroom reappraised.

Where I live, a small 300 sqm unit would probably go for around 900k to a million. At those prices, people would snap them up in a jiffy.

I just don’t understand. The majority of people don’t have that kind of income…
