.
My town’s Facebook page was critter-centric with this week starting with this awesome visitor.
.

.
We had one on our roof a while back but I wasn’t quick enough to get a photo. They’re such glorious fellows.
.

.
I hear that on the zucchini. Everyone is trying to foist them on us lately.
.

.
Outhouse shed combo. When you’re working on something and just don’t want to waste the energy it takes to walk back to the house.
.

.
Our neighbors have lost a few birds to foxes. But I think we need to examine how #20 survived. Could have been an inside job.
.

.
Alright, so it’s not a dog waiting at the door with your slippers. You still have to admit it’s sweet…
.
I love Thomas Turkey!

A cheerful greeter to be sure.

I think the question here is will Thomas still be greeting them after November?

There are some questions I just won’t ask.

Maybe send the poor chook where there’s no bad memories – ideally somewhere safe from massacres.

I always thought chickens were social birds. He might not do well alone.

Awww what a cutie! Turkeys can be such sweethearts. My mom’s follow her around all day while she does work in the yard.

We have flicks of wild Turkey visitors but my husband chases them off. Too much poop.

The owl is beautiful.
We discussed getting chickens SO many times. I just knew though, if something were to happen to them (we also have panthers, coyotes, bobcats, etc…) that I would be devastated. Also if a hurricane were coming, they’d be living INSIDE the house.
Love the pet turkey!

My husband refuses to allow me chickens. Probably because he knows it wouldn’t be me going out to feed them when it’s 10 below.

Thomas looks like he’s half ready for Thanksgiving dinner.
Or because he was named, no one will eat him either??

Where is the rest of Thomas’ outfit?!

Thomas is a domestic bird, his wild brothers are more striking.

Let’s just hope Thomas isn’t on the menu in two months. I read about the pig.

The life expectancy of domestic creatures is quite low in our town.
