.
I’m currently reading what has got to be the strangest book ever written.
.

.
Yes, it’s entirely about corpses. And while you may not think that’s an entertaining topic? I’m here to assure you… it can be.
.

.
As you can see, the author has a sense of the bizarre as well as humor.
.

.
And because I share all the weird and wonderful parts of my life with you?
.

.
I’ll be sharing amusing snippets from this most fascinating read for the next few weeks.
😉
.
Oh goodie…..
lol

At last ! A book where plot development and character growth are um blatantly ignored.

That’s hilarious, and as someone who worked in a medical school, those female, uh, practice people, for the students training in everything, gynecological are called standardized patients. And they get paid to do this because, as you can imagine volunteering for such training isn’t appealing to anyone 😵💫

Sorry, but there is literally no amount of money that could make that job appealing.

Well believe it or not, they make money. Especially during their test week at the end of their clerkship. But I had two or three students hurt a couple of the standardized patients. Poor women, at the hands of 3rd year medical students at that.

I can’t imagine wanting to be a gynecological guinea pig.

How much did they get paid? 🤔

It depends on what they are hired to do. OBGYN clerkship SP’s usually make more, about $26 hr, because of course it’s the most intimate of exams.

I read a book on the Spanish Flu epidemic. I thought it would be pretty morbid but it turned out to be fascinating…

Whether I needed to know any of it is a different story.

One would hope that the “Pelvic Educator” would be at the top of the pat scale. It would be interesting to know how the hire for that position. No I am not interested, just curious. Quite the read!

I’m not quite sure how you go about interviewing for that job. Do you audition? List recommendations?

This book looks interesting. I might look it up at the library. Methinks you would enjoy one I found fascinating: Will My Cat Eat My Eyeballs? Big Questions From Tiny Mortals About Death. Written by a mortician and a very engaging read.

I just finished this, and just in time. I’m doing a reading challenge from the library where Cathy works. It’s like a bingo card and one of the spaces is for a book that was recommended to me. BING!!!! But wait, there’s more! I borrowed the book and a few days later someone donated a copy to the library bookstore. BIG score. This fine person also donated another Mary Roach masterpiece called “Spook”, which, I guess, could be a new perspective on Stiff. Thanks for hooking me up.
