Fuzz… the end.

.

And so we reach the end of another series of highlights. I have to say, Mary Roach has really grown on me. I live for weird and wonderful facts and in this respect, she certainly is full of it.

.

.

2×3 = 9,000,000? That is a completely mind boggling statistic. You would think even a rabbit has a headache now and then. Nine million bunnies in 3 years? That’s some serious fornicating my friends.

Sadly the end of the book dealt with all the horrible ways we humans react to what we perceive as an over abundance of wildlife. Simply put…if you get in our way? You’re toast.

.

Well, that’s a bit extreme.

.

.

Climate change, loss of habitat, deforestation, pesticides. We kill even when we don’t mean to.

.

Seen at the Penguin Place private conservation reserve. The Yellow Eyed Penguin is endanged.

.

Another beautiful creature whose time is almost up. Adapt to the damage we wreak upon the planet or perish.

.

.

Neither choice is good. Even if you’re wearing pink go go boots.

😰

  1. A rat trap made out of a pistol would be expensive and, owing to its being a cap and ball pistol, probably wouldn’t work at all after a humid night. Williams, eh? I was thinking Goldberg.

  2. Some guy in town was bitching on NextDoor about all the deer in his yard and everybody really let him have it. Reminded him that we’re the ones encroaching on their land. It was such great entertainment I was tempted to make popcorn as I watched the back-and-forth.

    1. Around my area people take great pride in murdering animals that trespass on “their” land. I said the thing about it was their land first, that we should be respecting them. I was lucky they didn’t murder me. You would have thought I was accusing them of something. I WAS!

  3. I’m sorry to see FUZZ go. If the sea level keeps rising the Yellow Stripes will not be the only endangered species of penguins. Along with Flamingoes, Penguins are my favourite birds. Fortunately, I will be gone from this world before they are. But I hope they will dtill be here when I get back, though my “I” will not be.

  4. All creatures on earth have some contribution to make – with the exception of humans now – we’re more destructive than beneficial. Edgar Cayce said prayer does work – particularly if we do it in groups – if so, we all need to start pronto.
