Because we are in desperate need at Casa River.
.

.
Our once beautiful lush green lawn is now brown and crunchy.
Time after time we see thunderstorms roll on by with only a few drops falling on our property.
.

.
So few the baby woodchucks were trying to lap them up off the deck boards last night.
Half our state is experiencing drought conditions and I’m filling our bird bath three times a day. If things don’t change I might have to start providing the ground dwellers with a pool as well.
.

.
How dry and crunchy is our lawn? Even the septic system access is brown and dry.
.

.
If it weren’t for the weeds there would be no green at all.
😫

Afternoon rains almost every day in Florida.

I do miss southern thunderstorms.

Not sure who is doing the rain dance but it happens every summer.

We’re unusually dry. And never this early…

Same here–our ‘rainy season’ has been a failure so far–a Sahara dust storm is keeping rain away–I am just hoping Hurricane Martin (yeah, they named one after me!) will not come and flood us!!!

A flood sounds good right now.

We had a nice surplus of rain headed into July…but what do ya know…the heat came mid-month and the sky faucet turned off at the same time. Yard is nowhere near as bad as yours looks, but if this keeps us the weeds are going to be the featured performers for us also.

We were lush and green last month. Hard to believe now…

I’m trying to arrange to send you the rain over here. It’s been raining off and on here since the end of May. I’m really tired of it making weeds and not my grass grow. And what I mean by that is, I have grass but it’s only in patches and tons of weeds in between 😡

And we’re bone dry. It’s crazy…

I did a rain dance in a cantina in Taos a few aeons ago. The Indians were not amused …

Yes.
But did it work…?

Hard to tell … it was January and it snowed …

I’m counting that.
Well done.

I have never gone on a vacation where it did not rain, including ending 3 droughts. All you need do is pay our way there and back and we will come visit. I didn’t even have to dance, though I have the right blood in my veins.
However, satisfaction cannot be guaranteed. It would be nice at least once in my life to go on a vacation and not have it rain.

At this point it would be worth the price of two tickets…

I’m afraid that would ruin the rain. Really. But there is one big roadblock. While I have crossed the border mamy many times, it’s actually illegal for me to be in your country. But maybe St. Stephen would be close enough. Lol.

If I did, I would do it now. We have been on Storm Watch with Alerts for hours now but only a few drops so far.

I read that we had monsoonal rain in the mountains. We’vegot the humidity but no measurable rainfall in ages.

Our humidity peaks and falls, but little to no rain all month.

Same. Our only significant rain in a year was back in Dec.. 5.75 inches. We had less than 8″ in the entire rainfall year. Dunno how much longer we’ll be able to sustain people.

People can argue about climate change… man made or cyclical… but it’s here, and we have to learn to live with it.

We finally got a couple days of rain this weekend. I was happy to see it.

They’re calling for it here but that doesn’t mean anything anymore.

We got a little last night. AFTER I was in bed. I need it to rain while I can be outside putting more newspaper on the garden!!

I love when it rains at night. Soaks in the ground without the sun evaporating it so quickly.

…….when I see people watering during the day? I just want to shake them. Not only does most of the water evaporate? It sunburns the plant!

I dislike this so much. I wish I could do a Raindance and help your lawn and critters!

I feel for you. We’ve been in a drought for several years, too…though recently, we’ve gotten some nice rain. Hope you luck out soon.

They forecast chance of showers and then they pass us by. This has been the driest summer I remember…

Same is true here in Minnesota . . . and they’re predicting it’ll last through October. 😦

It’s awful. I want to water my gardens and trees but don’t want the well to run dry.
