A bateau is a boat, but in my neck of the woods? It’s also a brewery.

Perched on the river in a turn of the century mercantile building, we met the owners recently and had to check it out. And though the outdoor seating had a great view….

It was hot, so we opted for indoor.

Which also had a good waterfront view.

I liked the vibe, and I liked the beer.

I did not like the fact that my husband and our friend found the strategically placed cribbage board and left me twiddling my thumbs for an hour .

But I joined the Maine Beer Trail and checked in accordingly.

And I drank.
.
.
It was called pucking sour… and it was, with cherry and pomegranate undertones.

Ohh, that beer sound good. And, no food? The hubs looks entertained, too bad River wasn’t, lol.

I love a good brewery!! I’m not big on sour beers but like to try them for the flavors!
You’ve caused me to remember/crave cider. Maybe I’ll reroute my errands so I can visit a local cidery!

Yep… they have hibiscus cider on tap. And cherry, blackberry/vanilla, coffee (cider??). I sense a couple flights of tasters in my future! Thanks!!

Most of them were! I took home a,karge bottle of cherry for me, and a smaller bottle of strawberry/basil/mint for the neighbors I like.

I am very boring when ordering beer at a bar, but I’ll try almost anything in a brewery. Great view.

It’s a brewery. Not exactly girly… the sour was the only fruity thing there.

Looks like a very chill place. The Maine Beer Trail marketing looks cool also. I checked it out online. Nice way to promote the brewing community in the state.
