A Park Service employee was right there to answer our questions….

And make sure I didn’t get a close up photo.
We saw bear in the park as well…

Though no one was around at the time to give us this helpful advice.

I can’t say that would ever have crossed my mind, but then again I’ve never been chased by a bear after my girlfriend broke my favorite martini glass…

While I am all for experiencing nature up close and personal it should be noted that a bear will revise one’s opinion on who holds the title of dominant species.

Mrs. Chess offered me some quality life advice once when saying I only ever have to run faster than one other person when meeting a bear. That has always made me feel good about the potential for running into one. I still have enough “wheels” to go faster than at least one other person nearby…including Mrs. Chess.🏃♀️
