.
Our snow is gone and we’re beginning to see some green grass.
We’re also seeing a nightly herd of 10 who never get together for a group portrait.

.
Young, old and the same harem master buck.
.

.
They’re all kicking up their heels because spring is out there… somewhere.

The group portrait might require a wide-angle lens, or maybe some strategically placed nourishment?

There are two bowls of grain laid out under the bird feeders nightly. They nosh in small groups…

I thought spring was out there, too, until we woke up yesterday to 8.5 inches of wet, heavy snow, vaulting this winter into the record books as Minnesota’s 3rd snowiest. Total day-ruiner! 😡

Wow. We never had that big a dump all winter.

Isn’t it fun living on the prairies, TTA? You got me this time. We only had about 4″ of wet heavy snow last night and today. But they say we will have more tonight. I hope “they” are wrong for once. But either way, this should not stick around long. Our temps should be above freezing in a couple days, THEY say!

We’re possibly expecting more this week. But they often botch the forecast, so who knows? I hate THEM!

The deer around here are much scruffier looking than your dudes.

Our herd is lovely, and well fed. I just cut up apples and carrots…

Do you think you’ll have any more snow, or is early April pretty much the end of it up there?

We’ve had huge storms in April and a few inches in May now and then. But the past few years, no.

They are eagerly anticipating spring, probably much like you.
