.
Yes, I’m still bird nerding out that a female pileated woodpecker has found our backyard .
.

.
Two sightings in twenty years and now twice in one week.
.

.
Woot!
.
.
Needless to say I’m making sure that particular feeder is always full in case she drops by.
.

.
A bag fills the cylinder once with 1/4 left over, and I have to fill it every other day.
.

.
Pricey, but worth it.
(Photo includes another of my coffee table metal sculptures since you seemed to like the hermit crab.)
🙂
.
You know you’re spoiling the birds when you buy them suet nuggets instead of blocks!

The internrt says they mate for life, and the father usually helps the mother tend the children in most bird species, so one could expect the father to be close by. With a great souce of easy food I would think dsddy comes when you are not watching.

We have had one of those visit our feeder and I took a photo for my blog. About 4 or maybe 3 blogs, ago. You can check. I believe it was the same one.

Love the Bird. I can’t handle real Cicadas so definitely wouldn’t want a fake one. Lol
