Snow! Glorious snow…

.

Christmas was quiet here at Casa River…

.

.

But it was also gloriously white.

.

.

And may I just give a shout out to whoever invented snow blowers…

.

.

Best winter device, ever.

.

.

Yardstick deployment #2.

🤣

.

.

.

.

And while the husband was out blowing snow?

.

.

I was enjoying a good book, a cup of tea and the annual homemade rosemary shortbread gift from our neighbor. Delicious!

.

.

After clearing the driveway, the husband ran out of creamer so we drove to the grocery store.

.

.

It was a beautiful ride…

.

.

Until we cruised around a corner and clipped a hanging power line.

Smack! Right on my side of the windshield of the husband’s new car.

Thankfully, it… and we … and the car…were okay. But I called the power company to report the danger.

.

.

They got right on it, as we saw on our way home.

.

.

Winter driving is beautiful, but it can be hazardous too.

  1. What a dutiful wife you are 🙂 We got ice, you got all snow? We went from a home with 2 snowblowers to a big John Deere. I don’t mess around though I long for the old days when all I did was just a path and a spot to park my rig now it is over and acre I clear. Happy New Year.

  2. Very white.

You were very lucky while out driving with regards to the power line.

We are supposedly having snow at some point after the new year. Whether it will happen, I don’t know. I will be very surprised.

    Keep warm.

  3. What a winter wonderland, it looks positively beautiful. Just like a Christmas card 🤩. Rosemary bread sounds wonderful, I love me some herb bread. Wow your power company is really on the ball, they got there fast. It finally got below freezing here the last couple of days. As you know Christmas got down to a warm 71 degrees here, which was pretty annoying 🙄.

  4. I don’t have two feet of snow to trudge through and clear on the way to my car, but I still find our milder cold weather enough to want to never leave my bed.

It’s beautiful, but at what cost?

And why is your husband the only one out there, paying it?

That snow blower is probably the only thing between your Maine residence and moving to Florida…

  5. Powerline…shocker. I’ll bet. Hats off to your “Got this, no sweat” power company. The last time we had that much snow the lights were out for a week and a half in spite of the regiment of assorted equipment staged in the now-famous parking lot across the road.
I was a little surprised that you went to the store in the Audi rather than the Subaru, given its stellar safety rating. You know better than I and either way I’m glad you are home and safe and have an adequate supply of creamer. Happy new year, you’uns.

  6. Beautiful! And an answer to anyone who wonders why we live where there are seasons. With as much pavement (and snow) as you have, I can see the snowblower, and there is a certain beauty in those sharp edges, but I love shoveling snow.
