.
I love watching our backyard squirrels.
.

.
Like this poor fellow in the middle who was late to the show and missed a spot in the prime feeders.
.

.
He tried to share space in the larger feeder on the left, but was immediately kicked out by his brethren.
.

.
So an attempt was made on the covered feeder at the end.
And may I just say those are some impressive abs? To heck with a six pack, this boy has a 12.
.

.
The lid is solid metal, too heavy for the poor squirrel to shift.
.

.
And the bottom lip way is too small for the squirrel to perch.
A valiant attempt, but he ended up back on the ground scrounging for fallen seed.
Better luck next time little guy.
😊
.
They are a determined lot.

I enjoy watching them struggle. Especially when they fail at the end.
Thieving bastards… 😉

OH he’s so determined. I wanted to step over hand him a clump of seeds of his very own.

Oh I’m sure he does, but at that moment, he looked like he THOUGHT he was starving! LOL😅

Better they raid your feeders than mine!

I enjoy the antics of your squirrels! I dusted of my Birdbuddy feeder. I put it away last spring because the plastic parts were breaking in the heat. I forgot about getting it out until this weekend. Now I’m watching the fighting over the bird feeder is nonstop. The good news is I saw Red giving it a try. I hadn’t seen him or the Mrs. since before Christmas!

It’s funny, we only see cardinals on our feeders at dusk. Maybe they wait for all the others to leave…

That’s what I’m thinking. They showed up on my feeder at dusk. I saw them first thing this morning….The quail and doves have been crowding everyone out!

I love squirrels. Our dogs do not.
