My husband rented a deck sander for a few hours and went to town on the barn porch.

In the rain.

Granted it wasn’t the best weather for sanding, but I wasn’t going to complain.

.

He thought it might make a difference and help the boards he replaced blend a little better with the existing planks.

It didn’t, but it certainly smoothed things out and prepared the surface for sealant.

I admit I was a little surprised to walk inside the barn and find a previously unknown dining table being used as a work top.

Clearly someone had been to the recycle center without me.

  2. Wow! The decking looks ok, I guess …. But the Yellow Submarine! 😲

    I had a similar (UK) die cast metal model when I was a kid. But as with my Curry Cherry Bang Bang, Green Hornet limo and Batmobile, my parents slung them out when I became ‘too old for them!’

    (Heck – I was only twenty- three when I moved out to get married!!!)

  3. I’m anxious to see how this looks when it’s finished. I have some places that need repairs and have put off the patching because of the color difference.

      1. And of course it has to be right out on the edge in a prominent place. Same here…any boo boos have (It’s apparently a rule) to be made in the most conspicuous place.
