.
Our new barn porch furniture has arrived.
.

.
And it’s a whole lot bigger than our old ancient set.
.

.
I can’t say I’m overly thrilled to have an outdoor recliner, but my husband sure is.
.

.
You may notice that something is missing.
.

.
And by missing, I mean on a table inside the barn.
.

.
You’ll see there are five throw pillows. The set came with six. But the day after I set up the furniture and went outside to read?
There were four.
.

.
I retrieved number five from under the barn.
Number six seems to be gone for good and I’m sure Momma Chuck is to blame. She’s been on an insane search for nesting material this year and it seems our porch furniture is irresistible.
😡
.

.
So since I can’t have color contrasting pillows due to thieving critters, I’m thinking of adding a rug .
.

.
Even she won’t be able to steal that.
.
You say nesting material, but I’m envisioning her sleeping on a nice comfy pillow. The furniture looks great!

She rips everything apart to get to the stuffing. Then the wind blows and we find it all over the yard.

Looks fantastic! And so cool that you have a barn. Is it mainly for storage or do you use it for other purposes?
Goddamn that woodchuck🤣

It started as a storage building, then because my husband was bored during Covid lockdown…. it turned into the man cave/Barn Mahal. We finished the space with a full bar, custom chairs, custom made liquor shelves, 2 tap kegerator, beer fridge, mini mixer fridge, special order pool table, leather club chairs with ottoman, big screen tv, water cooler, microwave, coffee pot, and a heat pump so we’re toasty in the winter and cool in the summer. We kept it rustic but filled it with antiques and lots of my husband’s military memorabilia.
Plus the big farmers porch of course. It’s a fun space.

Looks lovely and I am a huge fan of recliners for aging backs and bones. I’ve had to sew patches on our cushions on the backyard swing after squirrels ripped them open for material. Even though we have a dog!

I thought it might be the red squirrel at first, but then I caught momma chuck red handed, make that pawed… with stuffing in her mouth.

NEVER underestimate the ingenuity of a momma chuck.
Screw that rug down.

Not a bad idea…

You need to bring those pillows inside your house or buy a bale of that stuffing material and leave it out for her to use!

She’s had her babies, she needs to stop!

Years back, raccoons took my door mat but couldn’t get it under the house. Awhile later, I saw a bedsheet under the house – not mine. I wish I’d seen them dragging it up the street!!

Those Woodchucks might be mischievous but they sound fun, too.

They are.
But I wish they’d leave the furniture alone…

For fug’s sake, that’s just rude of the woodchuck!

I know!
And after all the buffets I serve her.

You’ve got to get some video of a woodchuck towing one of your throw pillows and share it with us!

If I could get video, I’d stop her little butt!

First, I love the new set! It looks really nice. I hope he takes lots of opportunities to use the recliner, so he gets his moneys worth!
Second, how about we stop at the thrift store one day and get them their own pillows? Do you think maybe they’ll leave your pillows alone?
😂🤣🤷🏼♀️

That might have to be an option next year….
