So stinking cute.

.

Do they stink?

.

.

Occasionally.

.

.

Is it an awful smell?

.

.

Most definitely.

.

.

But look at those little stinkers.

You have to admit they’re cute as well.

This video was taken as I was on my way out to spread their nightly snack on the ground under the bird feeders. Skunks have bad eyesight and not very good hearing so I got quite close before he realized I was there.

Pardon the wobbly section, I was trying to spread food and film at the same time.

  1. Related closely to the Asian stink badger, and distantly related to raccoons, otters, red pandas. Except for their odiferousness nature, they seem to be fun-loving beings. So glad you can enjoy their visits.

    1. I pet the tail of one – shockingly course!! After years of getting within 6″ of skunks, I was finally sprayed a few weeks ago. Long overdue. I recovered, but my outfit appears to be a loss. I thought I got the smell out but last week’s heatwave reactivated the stink (thankfully, I hadn’t tried to wear it again).

  2. I was torn between loving your mostly white skunk and thinking “OMG… sooooo much land!”

In my world, all opossums are named Buster (no idea why) and all skunks are Coco (Channel) or SkunkySkunk.

I know their eyesite is bad but they have great motion detection.

I want to see the white one stomping. I loooove when they stomp!!
