More news.
All of it useless.

He wants you to keep your urine and use it as fertilizer.
Yeah, that’s not happening here.

Yes friends, you can be the proud owner of a 26 foot tall building shaped like a blueberry. A price hasn’t been announced yet, but really… does it even matter?

If our resident red squirrels hear about this, we’re doomed.

A portal?
Maybe, but not to another world.

Jay Leno is a decent human being. When we visited Newport, Rhode Island twice last year we heard a lot of locals speak of him fondly. He has a large waterfront home there but appreciates being able to go into town without any fanfare. He frequents local shops and restaurants, watches local high school games and has been known to browse the farmers market. Caring for his wife who has advanced dementia at home and donating time and money to local charities has endeared him to Newporters and this story is further proof.

Home baked cookies.
Somehow I can’t see Elon Musk or Jeff Bezos being quite as gracious.

That’s a whole lotta of pie!

You took the words (and pie) right out of my mouth!!!! Wow what a pumpkin! A jack-o-lantern made out of that would light up half of New England!!

It’s a doozy.
For sure!

So does he mean stop flushing your toilet, or go out and pee in your garden? Or you could just get a chamberpot and use the night soil as fertilizer. Yes, that involves risk, which is why we don’t do it anymore in many places.

I believe a collection pot was employed.

I’ll skip fertilizing the yard. I’d worry that it would drive the bunnies away.
Actually, the Jay Leno story is news I can use. It’s nice to see that even among the 1% there are some decent human beings. I’ve always liked him.

No peeing on the lawn for you!

Now I’m curious… what do they really do with giant pumpkins (other than the place that hollows them out and uses them as boats).
Very cool of Leno – thx for sharing that story!
The pee fertilizer seems like an odd idea, consider that animal pee can kill grass… though I recall learning (perhaps incorrectly) that it’s only girl ankmals’ pee that does damage.
And, uh… yeah… I see a big blue vayjayjay.

Almost forgot: That skwerl is horrifying!!

That pumpkin was probably destined for water usage at the upcoming festival. Other than that they usually give them to livestock.
And yes on the portal. Hard to see anything else really.

The Jay Leno story helps restore my faith in humankind.
I’d like to see the seeds inside that pumpkin. I bet they’re the size of dinner plates.

I didn’t hear a bad word about him when we were there. Refreshing for a celebrity.

Such a charming and laugh-out-loud post! Stumbling across 26-foot blueberry buildings and monstrous pumpkins always makes for the best kind of internet wandering.

I love the story of Jay Leno! Gives me a different perspective on who he is. What a great thing to do! I always wanted to visit Iceland but now I find myself wondering about them in general and National Geographic. Funny!

You’re doing celebrity correctly.

Believe it or not, I have been to that blueberry shop. Along with the tacky knickknacks, it did have some yummy blueberry products. Loved reading about what a good guy Jay Leno is. Actually, in these discouraging times, that was news I could actually use.
