The miracle, day two.

.

Our Friday yard sale was cut short by the threat of an afternoon thunderstorm. The sky got dark and the wind started whipping so we raced around packing everything back up, throwing it in the garage and breaking down all the plywood tables. It was 96 degrees, humid as Hell and I suddenly remembered why I hated doing summer yard sales.

So much work!

Naturally by the time we had everything tucked away and secured the storm rumbled by and we didn’t get a drop of rain.

😡

But on Saturday morning?

.

.

We set it all up again.

.

.

I’d sold a good bit the day before and the husband had so much fun chatting with customers he brought more things up from his cluttered basement of doom.

.

.

Okay, some of them were mine…

.

.

But he put out his two old school desks…

.

.

And quite a few of his treasures.

.

.

Yes, they were overpriced as far as yard sale bargains go, but he happily haggled and came down if people bought multiple things.

.

.

He had so much fun, by the end of the day he was exhausted, hot, hoarse from non stop talking …

.

.

And busy looking up values on things he wanted to put out the next day.

To be continued…

.

A yard sale extravaganza … where a miracle occurred.

.

Yes, I did it.

.

.

I talked my husband into having a yard sale. It was a month long effort of collecting, pricing, boxing, making signs, posting signs, borrowing saw horses, dragging plywood out of the cellar and setting up.

.

.

Granted, the majority of things for sale were mine.

.

.

But as Friday morning wore on…

.

.

And my spouse saw people buying lots of things they didn’t need..

.

.

He thought maybe…

.

.

Just maybe…

.

.

He would put out a few of his things.

.

.

He started small.

.

.

And technically the heater (and whatever that old tool is) originally belonged a friend who left town and dumped it on us …

.

.

But they went out on the front lawn.

And when people stopped to talk to him about it?

He was hooked…. and brought a few boxes of stuff up from the basement.

.

.

And then, by the time afternoon rolled around?

.

.

He was in his element.

He stood outside and talked to so many people in the 95+ degree heat it required a change of clothing.

.

.

He talked to everyone who looked at his things and gave them the full history of each piece.

Whether they wanted to hear it or not.

He was a seriously happy camper.

🤣

News you can’t use.

.

You can’t use it, but you love it.

.

.

I’m shocked.

.

.

I feel you Auntie.

I really do…

.

.

All I can say is I know it works for Marines. My guy has always been able to fall asleep in two minutes flat. Even when I’m talking…

.

.

Say it isn’t so.

.

.

It’s so.

.

.

Bet they don’t put that in the tourist brochure.

.

.

You go girl!

🤣

.

Ominous skies.

.

July and August are hot and dry months in Maine.

.

.

Our verdant green grass is browning in spots and I’m constantly hoping for rain.

.

.

My flowers are thirsty and I can only imagine how much water our farming neighbor is pumping on his fields.

.

.

With the high heat comes afternoon thunderstorms.

.

.

But not for us.

.

.

We sit on the porch and sadly watch them roll on by.

.

.

Not one drop fell on our property from this boomer.

.

.

Talk about a missed opportunity.

🥴

.

Let’s play.

.

You’re here, what else are you going to do?

.

.

Long life.

I’ve lost so many beloved pets over the years I swear my heart will crack in two when I have to say goodbye to another….

So I’d like His Lordship to live twice as long as a normal cat.

.

.

How about you?

What super power would you like your pet to possess.

.

A new project.

.

Remember when my husband tore down most of our old shed and rebuilt it without the addition?

Remember when my husband bought an antique wagon and had to rebuild the addition to house the purchase?

Remember when I complained about having a gaping open hole on the north side of the new addition because my husband couldn’t figure out how to build a door on the wonky shaped opening?

Remember when my husband covered the hole with a tarp thinking that would suffice?

Silly man.

.

.

Door construction has begun.

.

.

I had multiple ideas for this.

.

.

None of which were taken under consideration.

.

.

Have you hugged your door today?

.

.

Remember how nothing was even close to level or plumb when the shed was built?

.

.

It’s going to be interesting…

🥴

.

News you can’t use.

.

Trust me, you really can’t.

.

.

See?

That’s the very definition of useless news.

.

.

Man, I hate when that happens.

.

.

I admit I’m out of touch enough that I had to look up what hosing glizzies even was.

.

.

I can’t imagine any drugged fueled high being worth that. .

.

.

Government efficiency.

No more free Kit Kats for you!

.

.

Did she?

I think the jury is still out on that one…

🥴

.

.

I only have one thing to say.

Grow up gentlemen.
