It’s a large thing.
And I have no idea how the thing got here.
I didn’t plant the thing, but maybe a woodchuck did.
The thing has started to lean…
And bloom.
Does anyone know what this thing is?

Or it could have blown in on the wind—Mother Nature just deciedd you needed some yellow in your garden!

You mean my garden has a horn section…
Cool.

Well, sort of a wild guess, at this point … but it does look like a trumpet vine. I am not a real horticulturalist … I just play one …

It’s not vine like at all. More of a tall stalk… but maybe we should ask the rhythm section to weigh in.

I’m with Rusty, it’s a sun trumpet…..

So is it a weed… or a flower?

It’s a flower, and it usually grows in bunches so I’m kind of puzzled that you only have one growing in there.

I know, it’s bizarre. Just sprang up out of nowhere

After exhaustive research… okay, I just Googled Sun Trumpet… I’m going to have to say no. The bloom and bloom structure are slightly different.

Well, they may have planted it, but they haven’t eaten it. Yet.

It’s like when you’re that one kid who’s trying to fit and blend in, thinking “They’ll never even notice.” Good luck with your “thing” 🙂

I use an app called Plant Net to identify things. Just today, I looked up three separate plants/flowers in the neighborhood: milkweed, Indian blanket, and horse chestnut. Check it out on the app store…it’s pretty handy. You just take a picture of the flower, fruit, or leaf, and the database spits back results in a matter of seconds.

Awesome! Just got the app and bam…. Common Evening Primrose, also known as weedy primrose.
Thanks for heads up.

If it got their of it’s own accord, then it is probably invasive. Invasive plants can be all “ooh, aah! looky! looky!” right up until they choke out all the other plants.

Murderous bloomers?
*gulp*

Yes. Try planting a single Bromeliad and watch it choke everything out, all the while blooming a beautiful flower.

And here I thought the only homicidal plants were Venus Fly Traps..

Venus Fly traps are only the mouthpieces of the plant Mafia. Bromeliads are the Godfathers.

Squirrels. They plant stuff you don’t want and they dig up and eat stuff you do. SQUIRRELS.

It’s pretty. As long as it doesn’t snap at you or grabbed you with tentacles, I’d call it a gift from Mother Nature. 🙂 Mona

By the way, I’ve been missing you at WW Sparkles. Are you getting notices when I put out something new? 🙂

Now that you mention it, no. I just thought you were taking a blogging break. WTH?

Huh! Nope. I’ve missed you for about three posts now. So sad! 😦 It’s always something with my blog site. I guess I need to take it in for a tune up or something. Ugh. Anyway, I try and blog on Sunday or Monday and either Thursday or Friday.
