.
While downloading photos from my big camera the other day, I came across these that were taken at the end of autumn.
.
.
Evening grosbeaks are a bird we rarely have visit our backyard.
.
.
But that day a large batch of them dropped by.
.
.
They’re pretty little things…
.
.
And made short work of the sunflower seed buffet.
.
.
Now is it me….
.
.
Or do they look like the original angry bird?
.
They are cute. I see what you mean.

Yes, they do look like the original Angry Bird, lol. That last pic looks like a couple and the wife is angry at her bird husband, 😂.

Maybe he’s turning their nest into a bird cave.

Well I would be angry too if the food was gone and the hostess didn’t offer or serve more!!!

The avian community eats me out of house and home, trust me.

They do look angry. The males especially, with that bright yellow slash across their foreheads. The females seem to have adopted a less-showy, resting bitch face in response.

OMG, you are sooooo lucky to have Evening Grosbeaks at your feeder!! We used to have them every winter in NC, then all of a sudden they stopped coming. I have seen one or two here out West. They always remind me of my mother, she loved seeing them. Thanks for the great pictures!

We have rose breasted grosbeaks often, but rarely the evening. It was a lucky sighting.
