Lord Dudley Mountcatten has been exercising. Unfortunately, the part of his anatomy he’s strengthening are his teeth.
.

.
Results of his daily work outs? My spider plants that are being nibbled down to nubs. Enter kitty wheat grass.
.

.
Something healthy and less likely to cause his premature demise at the hands of an annoyed human.
.

.
Upon first introduction, he was not enthusiastic.
.

.
But after the first chomp, he was hooked.
.

.
Here’s hoping it’s tastier than my houseplants.
.
Our cats eat grass from the garden, then come indoors and chuck it up on the kitchen or hallway floor.

I thought I’d save a step. Indoor dining, then chucking.

Wow. He’s as destructive to houseplants as my bunny! 🐰

We haven’t had spider plants since 1986. We’ve bought them, but…

Oddly enough this is the first cat we’ve ever had who liked to nibble.

I brought a palm tree plant home one time when we were moving to a new office and our company was giving away some plants. Our cat, Oreo, jumped in when I set it down and started munching. Within two days, everything that was green was gone.

Cats are so helpful that way.

So… you’re training your cat to be a goat?

Basically, yes. The day he produces cheese will be cause for celebration….

So when he’s chomped all of his grass, do you buy another?

I’m hoping it just keeps growing, but if need be… yes.

I thought spider plants were poisonous…?

I hope not. He isn’t showing any adverse reaction…

“The ASPCA lists Spider Plants as non-toxic for both dogs and cats. But, the Spider Plant attracts cats in part because it is mildly hallucinogenic. Because cats are more likely to play with the plant, they’re more likely to eat it and, therefore, suffer from an upset stomach, vomiting, or diarrhea.” Hallucinogenic? No wonder he’s nibbling!

What does one plant have to do with another? He wants variety!!!

That seems like it would risk encouraging him to chew on more houseplants, but I hope it works. If not maybe you could satisfy his need for greens by making it into a smoothie for him.

Geesh, I didn’t think of it that way. If he starts chewing anything else it’s outta here.

You should get him a Chia pet! He’d go to town on that sucker.

Ooh, I like that idea. But who….?

Just not a chia cat. That’s cannibalism.

And not a Trump. I don’t want the poor little guy to start paying off strippers.

I sense an extreme amount of lust in that final snap of Lord Dudley. Good for him. (And his eyes are gorgeous, by the way. Even if tinged with possible LSD-indulgence.)
