When you’re a housebound cat, squirrels on the patio furniture are the ultimate tease.

So close!

Poor Dudley.

Even Momma Red got in on the game.

His Lordship was actively cackling when she showed up.

So close, and yet so far.

Oh don’t you just wish he could have at her? I mean, if you knew his Lordship would come back and not have to chase him down that is.

I do. But I just can’t take the chance. Knowing that little bitch… she’d lead him straight out to the road.

Ever think about buying a decoy bird or two? We have several of them around where I work. Of course you’ll have to find one the squirrels are afraid of. Maybe decoy cats will work?
I have a decoy owl that sadly does NOT do the job.

Decoy, hell. We have the real thing with hawks, ospreys and eagles. We even had an owl on our roof the other night…. scared the heck out of the cat.

All I can say in that case is – YOU invited the animals.
Maybe you should just give up and start building a boat?

And only pick two of each…? Not sure I could.

Your boat – your rules. Why, were you thinking of something else?

No. I’d just need a bigger boat…

And yet, what would the good Lord actually do with a squirrel if he caught one?

I doubt we’ll find out…

Adding a squirrel to the bird mix must be driving his Lordship nuts.

He talks a good game…but would he really go after them…or just make friends with them like mine did?

I have a feeling the bird and rodent population would plummet.
