.
It has begun.
The search for rocks to build a new border for my defunct perennial bed is underway and I can’t tell you how thrilled I am.
.

.
We went shopping…
.

.
For rocks!
.

.
Did I mention the aforementioned rocks are not cheap? Many rocks will be needed for this project so we drove around all day to multiple yards to compare prices.
.

.
So.
Many.
Rocks!
.

.
I think I died and went to heaven right on that spot.
.

.
This will be our border. 1-3” fieldstone. 3,000 lbs a pallet.. and at $458 per it was the cheapest we found. The bed is 10’x20’ … I say we’ll need two pallets , maybe 3 for a finished bed border… the husband says we’ll start with one.
Silly man. Doesn’t he know you can never have too many rocks?
.
Never contemplated heaven as a heap of rocks before 😀

I would never have guessed rocks were so expensive.

I knew they’d be high, but was hoping we could get more for that amount.

Have fun with your project. You’re just ahead of me. I took a couple “before” shots yesterday, which I will post directly. Now rocks. Holy shit you have got some seriously pricey rocks around there, I’m getting mine (river rocks and fieldstone for $200/ton, probably with a little more for delivery. Thankfully I only live about a mile away from the yard. But damn, If your heaven is made of rocks, you might want to talk to Jesus, or Igneous Christ , if you prefer, about the prices.
I really admire your gardens and the skill and dedication you show in maintaining and improving them. I can’t wait to see how it all turns out.

This project might take a while. I shall of course report the progress….

Wow I’m so glad that project has gotten off the ground for you (pun intended, lol.). I’m no where near having a yard/garden like yours, I’m still battling creeping Charlie and goats head weeds! Aahhh, the thrills of home ownership…..🙄.

There are days when I wonder why I bother. Sadly, the older I get the more frequently they come.

Rocks and stone are fairly expensive, but they are a great combination of being functional and looking good…something we humans aspire to be. Rock on.

If we only needed one pallet I wouldn’t complain. But three will get a bit pricey…

Your husband is a rock….
Of what, I am not sure.
Nonetheless,
It is my guess
Your rocky partnership will endure.

Endurance should be revered. In rocks, and marriage….

Can’t you just, like, drive somewhere and find a bunch of rocks for free?

All our other walls come from stone on the property. This one will have a different look.
