Being an animal lover, my eye is always drawn to stories and articles in which they feature.

My girlfriend caught Covid in the first wave. It was a really bad time for her but thankfully she didn’t need to be hospitalized. She is however suffering many long Covid effects. Brain fog, hair thinning and worst of all … loss of taste and smell. It’s been almost two years and still nothing. She says the only flavor that breaks through is salt. Can you imagine only tasting salt for two years? I’m crossing my fingers for the hamsters.

Shame I can’t talk the husband into it. He’s a pretty boy…

This made my heart smile. Every store/business should adopt a shelter dog!

A random chicken is loose in our town. I shall update the post if he struts by our house.

Agreed about the shelter dog, every business should have one. As for those chickens with attitude, no thank you. My grandad had chickens when I was growing up, they are mean, crafty beasts.

Only the males. But that goes for all species…

We have wild turkeys in our neighborhood so I believe I will pass on the chicken. Good luck finding him a new home. And good luck to your friend. Those long term side effects are the worst.

Not my rooster, just a post from our town’s FB page. My husband has forbidden me to have livestock. And yes, we have wild turkeys as well. They poop everywhere!

Agree every business should have a shelter doggie. As for a random chicken roaming about town, it reminded me of the time I found myself listening to an morning radio broadcast from Alaska, and the announcer mentioned there had been a bear sighting in town. Apparently, it happened frequently enough that these kind of reports were their equivalent of our traffic updates.

I live in Maine. We have bear and moose sightings quite often.

Our small town, population 3500 every winter, somehow had two competing Home Hardware stores. One had a cat named Hunter living in the store. After a while people differentiated between the stores by saying, “I’m going to Hunter’s Home Hardware.” A while after that, the owner changed the name to Hunter’s Home Hardware. True story.

I love that! Our local feed store has a dog, a cat and and a turkey with one wing.

Lucky them. They can eat whenever they feel like it.

Our friend/neighbor across the street owns a small business and has a store cat named Benny. I definitely approve.

“hardest working employee in the company’s history”. Well, must be time to sack everyone and replace them with doggys!
