Punk be pricey.

I’ve always been attracted to steampunk. Equal parts creativity and recycling, you never know what kind of design you’ll find. And then there’s the sheer weirdo factor. Who doesn’t love that?

So when Facebook popped up with some Etsy suggestions I was intrigued.

Until I saw the prices.

Damn.

And Lord knows I love a good ray gun as well as the next girl…

But I could hear my checkbook screaming no! from across the room.

Or maybe that was my husband.

Tough call.

They also can’t spell possibilities correctly, but you get the idea.

  1. I love this stuff. It’s far more deeply into form than function but the imagination and craftsmanship is not to be denied. I’ve made a fair amount of stuff over the years, but nothing at this level. I got a 3d printer recently that may well change all that.

  2. Most steampunk is a little too artsy-fartsy to suit me, but ever so often it intrigues me. $510 for a reactor isn’t bad, if you need a reactor. The death ray died when I saw a badly messed up boiler water siphon mangled. Those things are gold to steam locomotive restorations …

  3. 🤣😝😂…..I love the explanation at the end. That’s Steampunk for sure. But those gadgets are unbelievably pricy for my taste. It’s probably only too, like $30 worth of junkyard material to make most of them 🙄.
