.
A friend of my husband’s dropped by the man cave last week to say hello, though I think the actual reason for the visit had 4 wheels.
.

.
Behold his new toy, a 1970 something Le Mans Sport convertible.
.

.
This car is cherry. 27,000 original miles and spotless.
.

.
After we oohed and ahhed appropriately there was beer.
.

.
And pool.
.

.
And after a nice visit…
.

.
A shit eating grin of a man who always wanted an antique auto and is quite pleased with his purchase.
.
So that’s where my car went!!!

You need to keep a better eye on your toys.

This was years ago, but a friend of mine inhetited a 1956 Chevy from an aunt ehose husband died just after purchasing it. He brought it home, parked it in the garage, and it never left the garage again until after the aunt died. Less than 100 miles on it, perfect condition. The house was sold, so the car had to be moved. I’m sure my friend had a smile like that on his face when he picked it up.

For a while he was. But he was a druggie who owed a lot of money to a lot of nasty people. I was not surprised when the car disappeared from his possession. He played with fire, and he got burned, very badly. There is no way to explain the way life works, or doesn’t work, for some people. You think you know them, but you never really do…

That’s sad. On multiple levels…

It’s actually tragic, but everyone gets to choose their own path. I am not without my faults. I dabbled in many things that other people could condemn me for. I was lucky in that I kept my head and never lost control. Too many people lose control, and are unable to dig their way out of whatever it is that took control away. It is why I ended up in addictions counselling rather than as an addict. The line was very fine.

I actually tried talking him into selling both of our motorcycles and doing just that, but he can’t let go yet.

Holy Eye Candy Batman!!! And by that I mean the car, although the owner isn’t too bad himself, lol. That car has a V-8 Pontiac engine, probably 350. And with only 27K miles, it must have cost a pretty penny for sure. Definitely a nice ride for sure, wowsers!

He paid just under $30,000.

Holy crow, the car is 50 years old and only has 27,000 miles? Must have stayed in the garage for most of that half-century!

It did. Luckily for him…
