We’ve finally received some much needed rain and our lawn has responded accordingly.
.

.
The grass has started to turn green… just in time for it to turn brown in the fall…. and Lord Dudley Mountcatten approves.
.

.
Not that you’d know it by his face.
.

.
And while the grass is busy turning green, my husband is busy turning his rubber truck mat black.
.

.
Back to Black to be precise, which made me start singing AC/DC … and it totally went over my other half’s head.
.

.
Fall is here and cooler temps mean summer flowers are on clearance sale, like these sweet little hibiscus I picked up for the kitchen porch. They won’t last long… but they’re damn sure pretty right now.
.

.
Another reason to love my town. A cart full of free flowers.
❤️

You have a flair for decorating ~ love the hibiscus and your brass insects on that black ladder.

Thanks. I’ve always been a sucker for metal bugs. Don’t know why…

Love the hibiscus. I purchased a hardy one this year. It hasn’t bloomed yet but there are some blossoms. With my luck we will get frost first. Hopefully it comes back as promised by the hardiness zone. Also love the wagon of flowers. Things are looking so nice after the rain.

I bought one of those perennial hibiscus last year. It never made it through the winter. Was just an empty twig when I ripped it up this summer. Hope you have better luck with yours…

We have two flower barrels on our front landing. We have grown all kinds of flowers over the years, and even some dill. But because of health problems we haven’t done much the past two years. 9ne barrel grew some kind of green ground cover this year, but no flowers. The other barrel grew Sweet Williams, which we have never planted. They blossomed for two months until we had our first frost. No idea where they came from. None of our neighbours have ever grown any that we vould see. Nature at its most curioys.

Good possibility. Never even thought of that one.

We have a lot of visiting … and pooping… birds. I’ve had things pop up where they have no business being for years.

Gotta love a town giving away free flowers. His Lordship rules the green once more.

Dudley does not look at all happy about being on a leash.

A harness and a leash. He’s not thrilled with it, but it’s that or the couch so he deals.

His Lordship looks so regal just sitting there like a normal cat. Although we all know he’s not, lol. When you said you started singing AC/DC and the hubs didn’t get it I laughed out loud. He’s to preoccupied with his Black to Black project to get the gist of that joke, lol.

He’s just not an AC/DC fan. Or he was ignoring me, which is more likely the case.

Now I can’t get that song out of my head. 🙂
A cart with free flowers? I love that.

It’s a wonderful way to share the joy.
The flowers, not the song.

Flowers? I’m afraid they’d wilt before they reached you.
Will these do?

You could have started singing an Amy Winehouse song, too!

I thought of that, but there was absolutely no chance he’d recognize that one.

Yeah, I guess if he didn’t catch right on to AC/DC…
