.
And so after a spur of the moment, last minute mini getaway… we headed home. Wishing we could stay longer and see Vermont’s foliage at its peak.
.

.
Leaving the little town of Jeffersonville we passed what’s become a landmark.
.

.
An artfully painted silo celebrating the area’s agricultural roots.
.

.
We said goodbye to cows. (Alright, that was me. The husband grew up milking them and couldn’t care less)
.

.
Did I mention there are a lot of cows in Vermont?
.

.
There’s also a lot of corn.
.

.
So much corn.
.

.
Seriously, the stuff is everywhere.
.
Like when Jimmy James moved to New Hampshire and spent his retirement surrounded by cows.

You know I love cows, so I appreciate all the pictures, lol. Well thank you taking us along in your impromptu mini vacation. It’s a beautiful place.

I love taking you all along. You’re very quiet traveling companions…
🤣

We all said we had to be quiet virtual travelers or else you’d never take us along again. We aim to please 😆

And you don’t eat much either.
Well done!

Vermont — green mountain in French. Very true. But maybe should have been Vachemont — mountain of cows.

Harumph! That either be milo or sorghum. Cattle feed. Corn grown in Kansas …

Pretty sure it’s corn, though they do feed it to cattle.
From the state agricultural page –
“Vermont farmers grew 80,000 acres of corn at 19 tons per acre. Much of it was stored in silage bunkers.”

Sure looks like milo/sorghum to me. It is sort of a corn plant, but doesn’t grow ears.

Could be, I’m certainly no expert. But they do grow a lot of corn in Vermont. I know, because there are mazes everywhere.

I would have definitely said Goodbye to the cows too. Actually, maybe I did. You just didn’t hear me.

Welcome to my little corner of the institution. I have it on all 4 sides of my house this year.

Cows and corn? Vermont might as well be called East Wisconsin.

I shall take it up with the tourism board next time we’re there.
