As you know, I’m all about the creative cocktails. Infusions? Yes.
Fresh herbs and dried fruit? Perfect.
But lately I’ve noticed a disturbing trend toward absurdly over sugared, cake and cookie rimmed dessert in a glass concoctions and I think they’re getting a little out of hand.

Enough already. Sitting at a bar shouldn’t rot your teeth. Your liver, sure. But no one needs a vodka driven cavity.

Do not f*ck with the British.

Pot is legal in Maine and has been for a few years. Stores have popped up everywhere and while that’s hard enough to get used to…. I had to laugh at this flyer I saw the other day. It was distributed by the government who apparently have an “Office of Cannabis Policy”. My teenage self… who went to great lengths to hide her stash… is silently chortling that a free lunch is provided. At least they know their audience.

The required photo of Lord Dudley Mountcatten, just because.

Lunch is probably a giant bowl full of Doritos.

As for the cocktail, only a matter of time till it gets crazy like those milkshakes with cake/cookies/candy and pie on the rim of the glass

if i was at the bar with you, and you ordered that martini, i would be willing to risk the cavity and eat the cookie for you! 🙂

He doesn’t like new people… and would probably be hiding under the bed if you visited.

I’m with you regarding overly sweet cocktails – ick.

Cake needs to stay on the plate where it belongs.

If only vodka and I got along. We don’t. Still, that looks incredibly inviting to my sweet tooth! Loved the paint drying film! That’ll teach them! Hope they had the right herbs and munchies as they watched.

Those uber-sweet beverages of any kind, even the non-alcoholic ones, do not appeal to me at all. One sip and I’d be comatosed in diabetic shock.
Cannabis is legal here too and there are now more pot shops than Tim Hortons. A little overboard if you ask me. For both.

You aren’t kidding! I’ve been in BC for four months and there seems to be a pot store on every corner.

I constantly wonder how one little town can support 6 pot stores. They’re everywhere…

Wow, that gave new meaning to the expression, “It’s like watching paint dry.”

I read upon all the cannabis regulations when I was trying to get job. It’s quite strict! Sedsmust be tracked from batch, to planting, to use, and disposal of unused seeds/plants. Manufacturers have to be able to track to sales point, in case they ever have to recall!!
For crazy cocktails, check out Tipsy Bartender!

The strains they have today are crazy. Back in the day we were thrilled to get a little Kona.

Part of my interview included them talking about celebrity/branded strains in the future (the interview was I n 2016). I couldn’t imagine it… but here we are!

I don’t do any of it now. Tried edibles for my knee pain but it didn’t help…

Agreed. Topical cbd helped for awhile but no more. I do thc edibles to help me sleep.

One more reason to holiday in Maine. Weed! Have a spliff, watch the movie, drink for dry mouth and munches, then snooze with the cat.

You can live the dream up here, for sure.

That “cocktail” is definitely a dessert. I love cinnamon rolls, but not with my pre-dinner cocktail. I’m guessing that eventually the pendulum will swing back and spare, unadorned cocktails will once again reign supreme.

I see quite a few bars here are offering the ‘classics’. Old fashioneds, daiquiris, gimlets, and Manhattans.
