In case anyone was wondering I didn’t buy one of those pooping animal calendars I blogged about earlier, no…
I went with hedgehogs instead.

Yes, the wicked witch of the west in the original Wizard of Oz movie, Margaret Hamilton, lived in Maine…. and now they’ve written a play about her.

Pickled lettuce? Don’t get it. If I’m having a sub, or even a Philly cheesesteak, I’ll make a topping (?) with shredded lettuce, raw onion, I don’t like grilled, salt, pepper, vinegar and olive oil. I don’t leave it together long enough for anything to become pickled, just long enough for the flavors to make friends.
Betty doesn’t care about boxes so much, but the boys are crazy for them. Thanks, Amazon, for keeping us in a fresh supply.

Why can’t pickling be restricted to pickles where it belongs….

I would sign that petition but I can’t have any of the other vegetables, or pigs’ feet, feeling left out by the cucumbers.

Let me just say that east and west are relative tdrms cepending on where you are standing. If you are in a boat off the coast of Maine, the The Witch isvthe Wich from the West. M3anwhile if you a re standing in, say, Japan, all the witches are rrom the East, because they are American witches! The same goes for the witches from the north and south. It all depends on ehere you are standing. 🤐

I listen to ambient music, like Brian Eno and Tangerine Dream, when I sleep. It’s great until Otto and/or Vinnie take a midnight stroll across the keyboard BLONG! I finally wised up and started unplugging the keyboard. Sweet dreams.
As for the compass bearings and relative longitude, it’s amazing how long it took us to get from the Phoenicians to the Vikings to dead reckoning and to satellite navigation.
I think I might have a Philly cheesesteak with some wilted lettuce on it, if I can plot a course to the kitchen. Stay warm.

Pickled lettuce? Isn’t that sorta like coleslaw? I like crisp, preferably cold, vegetables on sandwiches (aside from grilled cheese tho I do like tomato on my grilled cheese – grilled cheese with bacon and tomato – yum!) Tho I would think pickling lettuce would make the lettuce soggy – what kind of lettuce are they pickling?

To be honest, I don’t want to know.

Wait, wait, wait a cotton pickin’ minute, the Wicked Witch of the WEST, lived in the East? I mean, wouldn’t that mean that witch that was killed by Dorothy’s house was the witch from the east? I guess I’m saying that if you’ve read the book Wicked by Gregory Maguire, Elphaba (Witch from Wonderful Wizard of Oz) was raised in the east but left west when her father sent her to boarding school because her sister was Nessarose (Witch that Dorothy’s house killed) was a, well a bitch. Yeah I’m a book nerd what can I say? LMAO. I’m not even going to touch upon the monstrosity that is pickled lettuce, eww.

I haven’t read Wicked and therefore am unable to comment on the east/west paradox.
The only time I would touch pickled lettuce is to strip it from a sandwich and heave it in the nearest trash receptacle.

Who knew Margaret Hamilton lived in Maine while she worked in Hollywood? Talk about a long commute (even on a broom)!

I used to know someone that knew her, personally. Is the new movie or book going to be factual about her life?
