Neither snow, nor rain…

.

My husband may not be a mailman, but his version of that age old creed says nothing will come between him and his television. Not even the ripping Maine N’or Easter with 50 mph winds and heavy wet snow that pummeled us yesterday leaving half our state without power.

Thankfully we never lost electricity… but when my spouse lost the satellite signal?

Out he went.

.

.

Digging in the shed for a ladder.

.

.

Trudging across the back lawn…

.

.

To knock the wet snow off the dish.

.

.

Reception restored, he trudged back in the house…

.

.

Only to return an hour later for more sweeping.

.

.

What can I say?

.

.

The man really likes his tv.

🤣

  1. Priorities…

One of my thoughts when I was considering solar panels on my roof was whether there was a way to reverse the current and send it through heating cables to melt the snow from the panels so they would generate power again sooner. (Or windshield wipers on them.)

  2. The first job I had when I moved to Vermont was working at the local radio station as a general dogsbody. One of my jobs was shoveling the snow off the satellite dish – thankfully no ladder was needed – it was ground level on a small hill. (Talk about culture shock – being 44 years old and going from tooling around NYC in limos to shoveling snow off of a satellite dish and being chased by a pack of wild dogs…)

  3. Why are y’all still using a satellite dish? Wifi wireless cable is less disruptive and more cost efficient and our provider (SLING which is provided DISH network) has all the cowboy channels the hubs probably like to watch, lol. I have all 8 of them, it comes with the package.
