.
It’s starling time again at Casa River.
.

.
In the spring and early fall they descend…
.

.
In very large numbers.
.

.
And clean out our bird feeders in no time flat.
Summer may be over, but my flowers have had a miraculous resurgence.
.

.
Everything is in full bloom and looking lovely.
.

.
I don’t know why…
.

.
But I’m not questioning, just enjoying.
.

.
Even my potted hibiscus is hanging in there with the cool nights.
.

.
Across the street… it’s all about the poles.
.

.
More poles get jackhammered in the ground everyday.
So many poles.
.

.
And the day I’m dreading draws ever closer.
.

.
Two 200 foot greenhouses will dominate the view from our kitchen window any day now…
.

.
And I am not a happy camper.
😫
.
If you see a fat, balding man who says “Good evening”, and hear the Funeral March of a Marionette, get inside quickly! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=flD-aRMwcjs

Two birch trees side by side right there to block the view.
In fall, they turn to gold.
Or one evergreen. Blocks in winter too.
Thanks for sharing the colours of the flowers. I needed to see them today. 💜

It will take a lot of trees to block those soon to be monsters.

I’m sorry about your view. I remember how unhappy I was with all the goodwill trailers across the road until they went away. I wish you had that to look forward to. Your flowers are lovely, just like you.

I fear these will be here to stay. Not to mention all the other tools and farm accessories that will be piled up around them…

Do the starlings go into murmuration mode? That would be amazing to see…

Sadly, no.
That would be worth the high cost of seed…

The lilacs around Madison are blooming again. Apparently, this rare event occurred because we had a mild winter, followed by a very wet summer, then a cool August, followed by a hot September.
TL;DR: The lilacs mistakenly thing it’s spring. They’re in for a rude awakening.

That’s odd because we had similar conditions and ours hardly bloomed once.
