.
We’ve been having a number of small snow storms lately, 2-3 inches at a time, and thanks to some cold temperatures…
.

.
It finally looks like winter in ye old state of Maine.
I enjoy the change of seasons and while winter can be challenging, it can be beautiful as well.
.

.
Especially when our backyard visitors show up for a nosh.
.

.
We usually see them in the evening, but the other morning these two showed up for breakfast.
.

.
My husband was out front shoveling the driveway…
.

.
And the minute they spotted him?
.

.
Nothing but fluffy white butts.

Beautiful! We don’t have deer around here. We had a bear visit last summer, but she and her cub disappeared quickly. Only little feet in our snow.

I love your little feet.
Well, not yours… the furry ones.

Love your driveway pic, that next cup of coffee must have been pretty good.

We have a big snowblower, but he rarely uses it.

Brrr…it’s been decades since I experienced minus degree days…Don’t miss them. But at least you have sun – Can’t deny that snow is pretty but ever so inconvenient.

As long as there isn’t any wind, I love the cold. Clean, brisk air!

Even the fluffy white deer butts are so cute to see, lol. The hubs looks like he enjoys shoveling the driveway, I could be wrong but that’s what it looks like to me 😉

He does. Perfect edges, carefully scraped… much better than I can manage.

It’s like spit shining your driveway, especially with the shiny new asphalt, Hats off over here.

You both do. My driveway is going to need something on the order of four yards of gravel to raise it up out of the mud left behind by Helene. My shovel is going to be so shiny… Reading about all the things you do to fix up your place inspires me to bear down and persevere.

We still have a long list of things to do, but we… and our checkbook.. had to take a break.

We are having our first “snow emergency” of the year. It snowed most of yesterday and last night and it is now bright and crisp. 3º F this morning. It’s supposed to turn cold early next week after some more snow. There is nothing like a bright and clear winter morning with fresh snow! (How is it that the “RealFeel” temperature on your screen shot is warmer than the actual temperature?)

Good question, I noticed that as well. It was sunny that day… maybe that helped.

If your husband slipped in the snow, there might be a third fluffy white butt in that pic.
We finally(!) got a decent snowstorm yesterday, with another on the way this weekend. Yay!

Yay indeed.
It’s snowing as I type…

Very meticulous shoveling. No snow blower?

We have a nice one, but he complains he has to scrape afterward anyway, so unless it’s wet and heavy he just does it by hand.

We finally have snow here, too! Got it last weekend and more yesterday. In an hour or two I’m going XC skiing for the first time in two years (because last year there was literally not enough snow to ski on… in Minnesnowta!). The husband is out blowing snow right now!
