.
Our lawn has turned brown from the troubling lack of rain, but that doesn’t stop our nightly critter visitors.

.
Skunks and raccoons are usually not a good mix…

But these guys make it work.

There are five trash pandas here…
.

.
And this family has been coming since they were babies.

I rarely get photos because they arrive after dark but here’s a quick clip to give you an idea.

Whoa Nellie, won’t you check out the hairdo on that skunk?

That skunker looks amazing! He must have a great salon to care for that fur/hair whatever it is that they have! lol.

A blow out every few days, no doubt.

A very interesting evening watching them. And as others have mentioned regarding the skunk, what lovely fur.

From what I understand they make lovely pets once you descent them. Affectionate, clean and you can train them to a litter box. Too bad it’s illegal here…

I rather see them in the wild.

Is the lawn brown due to lack of rain?
Or raccoon, woodchuck, and skunk urine?

Probably a combination of both…

Skunk has tail up…just in case those trash pandas act up.

He walks around with it up and ready… but never sprays them. Odd, but I’ll take it.

When the local skunk steal Frankie’s unfinished food, he eats from the bowl with his tail up and aimed at our back door.

Skunks and coons get along eh ?

These seem to, although there is some jostling for buffet position…

That’s a big family of raccoons. We had both raccoons and skunks in Palm Springs. I saw my first raccoon in Arizona on an outdoor camera I have in our backyard. I didn’t know we had them!

Those critters can be vicious – better lace the food with valium.

Wow! I don’t think I’ve seen a trash panda in person. What’s attracting them to that spot?

All the critters started coming for seed dropped from the bird feeders, then they discovered the apple trees, pear tree and blueberry bushes. Now I lay out a buffet.

I love your predominantly white coco (skunk)!!!
My raccoon fam hasn’t shown up tonight. Lately, they chop stale cat food for a bit then all pile on to the raisedcat/dog bed for a break of 30-60 min.
As the petson who pet a wild skunk: Their fur is insanely dry. Well, at least the tail fur is. The texture is exactly opposite of how it looks.

Awww … napping raccoons must be adorable.

They dog-pile so, yeah, very cute! But too far from the cam to get good images at night.

I hear that. I have very few raccoon photos…. if I try to go outside and take their picture, they run.

I know there are raccoons around, because I see them flattened on the road from time to time (sob!), but I have yet to ever spot one in our yard. I keep hoping though!

He was a stray who wandered in when we lived down south. I let the neighborhood kids name him. Bit of a mistake, that.

I love that you have the same family of Trash Pandas. And look at them, all making it work with their interspecies friends/foes!

What wonderful pictures! We get foxes and hedgehogs – they get along but there are occasional incidents of inter-hedgehog aggression
