Impressive core work and the first chuck sighting.

.

Our gray squirrels are quite acrobatic and during a recent snow storm… when I brought in all the bird feeders except the one from which they have trouble stealing… this little guy went above and beyond for a snack.

I’m guessing he has six pack abs under that fur.

.

.

He fell quite a few times, but finally found a stable perch.

.

.

In other wildlife news, our first chuck of the season arrived.

.

.

In the middle of the storm with nothing to nibble but fallen seed.

.

.

Poor chuck.

.

.

I doubt that was the meal he dreamt about all winter.

  1. It just crossed my mind that squirrels are eating upside down – does that affect the ability to swallow? They do it all the time so I guess not but what about humans? Can they swallow upside down? Or is it just to early in the morning for me to make sense? (Comments still closed in the reader – not a self-fixing glitch)

    1. They do it all time. Lord knows I’d choke to death if I tried. But college students chug beer standing on their heads, so I suppose it’s possible…
Thanks for traveling here to comment.
Hope this is a temporary problem.

    1. I think if you’re reading from a computer and a browser it’s okay. But your post from this morning has closed comments from my end. I blog using Jetpack on my phone and everyone’s is glitched.

    1. I’ve been playing with it for a while and am so confused. Some people can comment, others can’t. All my friend’s posts from this morning have closed comments on the reader but no one closed them.
      Grrr…
