I talked him out of buying old wooden hangers.
I talked him out of buying old advertising yard sticks.
I talked him out of buying old light bulbs.
And yes, I even talked him out of buying this …
.

.
But only because we already have two 12 foot vintage tree trimmers.
Sigh.
.

.
Bad taxidermy aside, this antique store did have a sense of humor.
.

.
And you know my husband didn’t come home empty handed.
.

.
We’re now the proud (or not, depending on who you talk to) owners of a vintage table top pinball game.
.

.
I can feel your jealousy from here.
.

.
Did we need this?
No.
.

.
But when did that ever stop my spouse?
.

.
He paid $25 and was a happy camper.
Me?
I added a few classics to my vinyl collection.
.

.
The Byrds, Bob Dylan, The Beach Boys, Jackson Browne, Neil Young and James Taylor.
😊

Was that pinball working still, by any chance?

Yes. There are about 10 metal balls that are propelled by a spring handle you pull.
It’s just a table top manual thing.

I have to admit then that I would have a play. 😁

It is rather irresistible, I admit.

My brothers had most of those albums while we growing up. I still remember the covers especially of Bob Dylan. They would listen to them, my cool older brothers and I and I would find a good book to read or exercise to something including the background music from Pippin. After a few years, I grew to enjoy some of their albums and now they are making a return.

And you passed up the spinning wheel(s)?

Quite happily.
Yes.

It’s just a small table top thing.
No jealously necessary.

I had four of those albums but sadly took a lot of them to a thrift shop and the rest to a college roommates cabin in WA because they have a vinyl collection and a record player.

I lost half my vinyl collection to a bad roof leak decades ago. I’m constantly trying to replace the ones my MIL threw out.

Makes me feel a bit better for only owning about 15 vinyls… all I ever owned. I have catchy stuff like The Cowsills and Disney’s Uncle Remus (in other words, crap).

Dead animal heads. Ugh. There’s little chance I would hang out in there looking at stuff especially not with those doll bits everywhere. Nevertheless you found some good additions to your vinyl collection! Cheers.

It’s Maine. I’m afraid there are dead animal heads in almost every antique store.

To be honest they weren’t very interesting and in bad shape. But still!
It’s a win.

Au contraire, I think the pinball machine is the perfect addition to the Barn Mahal.
Can’t believe I’m siding with your husband here…

That Pinball machine was a great deal even if it is a tabletop!

Calling it pinball is a stretch. There are no bumpers, no noise. Very early version.
