Oh sure, everyone wants to adopt puppies and kittens.

.

The World Wildlife Fund is currently running a fundraiser in which you “adopt” an animal. I think you receive a stuffed version and some other cutesy little stuff but that’s not what I’m blogging about.

.

.

So sure, everyone wants to adopt a koala. Their cuddle quotient is off the charts and they’re freakin’ adorable.

But really… who wants to adopt a bat?

.

.

And a blood sucking bat at that.

Another tough sell?

.

.

While I find devils rather sweet, prevailing wisdom says no.

.

.

Whale shark? Their mouths are four feet wide and they eat 50 lbs a day. That’s almost as much as a teenage boy.

Something tells me these guys are going to be at the orphanage for a very long time.

.

2020 can bite me.

Just when I think this horrible year can’t get any worse…..

2020 snickers and rubs its hands together in glee.

That’s right, a Great White Shark is in Maine waters and has killed a woman. We used to think this was impossible ….. but it’s 2020.

All bets are off.

Shortly after the tragedy, these pictures were taken off the coast of the Island where I used to lived.

Lunch.

That’s my Island in the background.

*Gulp*

And if Great White shark appearances in Maine aren’t crazy enough?

This happened early Wednesday morning:

It felt like a bomb had exploded in our basement.

And if that’s a 2.2?

I’m never moving to California.

Of course, we’re Mainers.

Tough….

Resilient.

We will rebuild!

Cape Cod Day 5… P’town, the breakwater and the seashore.

Provincetown is home to charming inns…

IMG_9268

Narrow streets…

IMG_9275

And lovely little homes whose lawns you could mow with a pair of scissors.

IMG_9274

I don’t want to say they’re too close together….

IMG_9270

But, yeah.

IMG_9269

They kind of are.

IMG_9261

All roads seemed to lead to the ocean…

IMG_9276

So we did as well.

IMG_9285

Which is where we found a breakwater… made of rocks!

IMG_9280

That I totally wanted to walk, even in the rain….

IMG_9283

To which the husband said not no…

IMG_9281

But Hell no.

First Landing Park? You’re looking at it.

Sign… grass.

Duly noted and photographed.

IMG_9290

With the weather getting worse, we gave up….

IMG_9295

And drove back to the resort along the National Seashore.

IMG_9296

Which… in the rain, from the car,

IMG_9294

Looked like this.

IMG_9299

Oh well….

IMG_9298

At least we were safe from the sharks.
