A little catch up…

Since it took me a month and a half to post vacation pics, it’s time to get you back up to speed on the dreadfully boring fascinating tidbits that are my life.

You may have heard the government had a shut down during our trip. Luckily this caused us no financial hardships, but it did mean the husband’s paychecks were delayed. And being the federal government, you know they had to make something simple ridiculously difficult.

The husband gets paid the same amount every 2 weeks. Same amount of pay, same amount of deductions. You would think they could just deposit the 2 missing paychecks.

But no.

It shouldn’t surprise you that as of today, his pay is still hosed up.

Now to the weather…

It’s been cold.

And yeah.

You did.

The back yard deer are hungry.

And so are the turkeys.

We love the deer. The turkeys? Not so much.

They’re comical… but they poop. A lot.

Enough said.

Valentines Day came and went…

The husband sent me roses.

And I gave him a framed shot of the night sky from the exact location of our wedding day.

I know.

We’re so special it hurts.

Of course the really wonderful thing about Valentines Day is the day after….

When chocolate is half price!

That’s the definition of true love right there.

  1. I didn’t know about how ridiculous it was to get your pay after The Donald’s shut the government down stunt. I should have known. So sorry that happened to your husband, but am glad that you found some half price chocolates to console you.

  2. You didn’t shell out to the Star Registry to name a star after hubby? I heard that’s the ultimate sign of love… to have a star some 8 zillion light years away that even the Hubble Telescope can’t see named after the light of your life…

  3. Half priced chocolates, roses, I love. Turkey poop and government shut down, not so much. One of my coworkers husband is Border Patrol and they were told to keep showing up for work during the shut down, and his pay is still delayed from January. I mean he’s gotten paid for what he worked after the shut down, but still waiting on pay for “during” the shut down? I don’t get it, this shit is ridiculous. You guys are so sweet, you and your hubby seem to be the perfect fit for each other. You blog and post pictures of your adventures and he tries really hard to stay out of you way, and the pictures, lol.

    1. My husband had the first two weeks off and was then required to go back without pay. The whole thing was ridiculous and solved absolutely nothing. Except showing us that a country who shuts down their government has some serious problems.
And thanks. Sweet isn’t always the first word used to describe me… so I’ll gladly take it!

  4. I’ve never had a bouquet of all different roses and I think I would like that very much.
Wild turkeys? Just turkeys hangin out round the bird feeder? Even spotting wild turkeys is rare here. Does that happen in the cities?
