I was cleaning out my desk the other day and found an old brochure for Adult Education.
Then I remembered I’d started a series on some of the more interesting classes when I first started blogging here…
You’re never too old to learn…. Chakra Toning.
You’re never too old to learn…. Spoons.
You’re never too old to learn…. Ukulele
Yes, you can learn some weird things in Maine.
So let’s continue….
Good.
I’m glad someone is.
Today’s class?
Mindfulness.
O-kay.
The definition?
1. the quality or state of being conscious
So let me get this straight…
For $95, and over the course of 6 weeks, they’re going to teach me to be conscious?
To be honest, that’s not usually something I have a problem with…. unless I’ve had too much to drink.
And as I read the class description I kept picturing this:
But for the hell of it, I tried practicing being in the moment…
And it didn’t seem too difficult.
And I figured…
I got this.
Who needs a class?
Yeah.
It didn’t work.
But that’s okay, I’d much rather buy $95 worth of Girl Scout Cookies anyway…..
You can reject mindfulness… but only if you reject it with complete concentration…

I shall keep trying…

C’mon . . . don’t you want to lay the foundation to be a health and wellness coach??? 😛

There’s only two things that come to mind when I hear the phrase “Adult Education.” A segment from a Nickelodeon show I used to watch as a kid that I’m sure you don’t know…. and that godawful Hall and Oates song from the 80’s.

It’s not polite to gloat.

Not gloating. They are not special anymore because they are so readily available all the time. So I no longer buy them. Not what they used to be.

They’re definitely more expensive… and less per package, but still a treat up this way once a year. Love the lemon ones!

OMG The lemon ones…………!!
Bought thin mints this year. Disappointing.

I love thin mints… in the fridge, good and cold. But honestly, Keebler Grasshoppers taste the same.
But the lemon?
Ooh la la!

Mindfulness was the basis of my blog post today. Maybe we’re more mindful of each other than we realize. Synchronicity and all that. Was there a class on that concept?

No…
But maybe we should start one.

I was mindful once. I’ll never try that again.

Great post, and I agree that it is better to spend the money to eat a lot of great cookies. Myfullness > mindfulness.

Well you know how woo-woo I can be, so I do mindfulness exercises like whoa, and had to learn how to because I was gonna go away in a white jacket and while I rock a white jacket, I prefer them less structured, more of a crisp open look and not so constricting 😉

You practice mindfulness? Perfect… maybe you can give an accompanying tutorial.
