Are you ready for a deluge of photos?

Good, then you’re in the right place…
Because this was probably the most scenic spot we found on our trip.

Pulling into the park, the ledge loomed ahead.

We drove up a long, winding, foliage bracketed road…
And a short walk from the parking lot at the top?

Wow.

I’m going to run out of words to describe the view pretty quickly.

Breath taking. Splendid. Dazzling. Jaw dropping. Stunning…

See?
Speechless..

And look at the rocks!

And the trees!

And the even bigger rocks…

With people climbing up them.
I was one happy camper.
Even when I saw I couldn’t use the mountaineers as target practice.

It was glorious.

Every where you turned…

Magnificent views.
Made me feel like I was on top of the world.

More to come.
Here in Virginia we have a bow-season on climbers so they don’t become so numerous that they use up all the available cliff-faces…

Most excellent! Wouldn’t it be ironic if someone took that sign, threw it over the side and knocked off a rock climber? Murdery ironic, but ironic nonetheless.

And… it wouldn’t injure any rocks. A win win.

Your trip just keeps getting more and more beautiful as you go, and all those pictures, just astonishing! Like I said, Oprah of Rocks!

This was an extra special place, especially with some fall color.

The leaves, the rocks, and tree roots spread across the rocks (how do those trees survive to grow so tall with so little soil?)…amazingly beautiful, all of it. Love the new primary photo; makes me hungry for cookies 🙂

It was a wonderful spot, I could have easily stayed all day.
And thanks. I’d figured it was time to get a little festive, cookies and all.

Wow – this place is wonderful. It’s kinda sad to think that we might actually need that sign. I mean, who…

Small talk aside, I’m glad you didn’t take my compliment for granite (now you see why puns are regarded by some as the lowest form of humor).

No… I’d never give a compliment the cold boulder.

Groan? There’s nothing to groan about!

Well, hell … you can’t throw rocks at the rock climbers? Where’s the joy in that?

I know, right?
They’re literally just hanging there asking for it…

I intended “Groan” as a kind of exaggerated-fun reaction to “the cold boulder.” I’m surprised that you haven’t groaned about some — make that most — of MY puns that were a bit of a stretch. In any case, with this pun, I’ll own up to being a groan up….or are you still a groan up on me?

Ah, understood.
Puns are extremely groan worthy…. and I won’t gravel for faint praise any longer.
